lol, TX and OU are dusting off the old SWC puppet strings for Ark. You'll ask "How High" when TX and OU tells you to jump.

Arkansas never played OU in the SWC because OU was only in it for 4 years.

Nice try though!

It won't "just" be Texas - that's the thing. Right off the bat, anything they request regarding moving championship games further west will immediately get the backing of Oklahoma. Then probably Mizzou. Arkansas will hold out the longest, because at this point they're culturally tied to the SEC. A&M will resist because they hate Texas - but they'll eventually play along.

And the rumblings about how Texas should have better slots on the SEC Network will begin immediately. Give it five years, and the complaints about how Texas should get a bigger payout will start.

Give it another five - and Texas will be chirping about how they'd be better off as an independent, since the SEC is just oh so hard to work with.

Watch and see.

Nothing. They have no pull or power, unless they can figure out to channel ego and arrogance.

They will try and fail and lose 3-6 games a year. Hopefully that humbled them a bit.

The only way they are forcing their will in this conference is to make a sizable donation to the REC. Just saying

We are actually super nice and chill. Honestly, nothing too crazy. First we will work to divide this conference in two like when we separated OU from their Big 8 rivals to slowly choke off the Texas pipeline to any North Division schools. They we will slowly spread our poison and venom throughout this conference as we begin to destroy it from the inside. Step 3 is profit.

Texas has been forced to carry a bunch of smaller in state schools for most of its existence and that is no longer the case. Would you expect LSU to view La Tech, Tulane, ULL, and ULM as equal partners if the Louisiana State legislature forced LSU to carry them around in a conference? No you wouldn't, you would undoubtedly expect LSU to call the shots in a conference that included that.

Actually makes sense.

See, that's funny. Maybe you thought it was Texas Tech or Texas State coming over. But THE University of Texas and their $30 billion endowment will soon be the new gorilla with a chainsaw dick. Losing is only going to intensify their well storied conference breaking abilities.

This is a different perspective on the whole narrative and makes a ton of sense. Welcome to the SEC.

The SWC consisted of Arkansas and then nothing but Texas schools Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Rice, and Houston. 4 of which are private schools. All which, with the exception of A&M and Arkansas, Texas was essentially forced to prop up by the state government. That is why Texas didn't put up any legal fight to keep A&M from going to the SEC because they knew it would create a precedent for Texas to leave at a later date.

Texas is the only university in college athletics that has been essentially forced to carry around a bunch of little brothers. It is just a narrative that A&M likes to push because it is their justification for leaving the Big 12. If anything it is remarkable that a conference that had only 8 members (7 Texas schools (4 private) and then 8 Texas schools when Arkansas left) for almost all of its existence managed to last 81 years.

I guess we should apologize that we couldn't carry around Texas State and North Texas while we were at it..

Appreciate it! Look forward to playing marquee games every week and hopefully with a shift towards giving a shite about athletics again from our administration we will turn it around in football.

My prediction:
3. Eventually same with football out of Atlanta.
6. frick over Texas A&M at every opportunity.
7. frick up any SEC recruiting inroads that had been

We'll play nice, but these 3 are almost guaranteed.

Really, Texas understands football? Given their record, I doubt it.

And honestly, you think Texas is going to hold on to their instate recruits given the recruiting power the other SEC schools have? Can Texas even develop talent?

Go 2-10. There two victories will come due to forfeits from those two teams exposure to the Delta variant.

And nothing will happen. While it might end up in Dallas, the only way Texas will be in the SECCG is if they buy a ticket

I actually think Texas football is going to go the way of Georgia football, good but never great.

UTexas fans need to realize they may never see another conference title game appearance let alone a conference title ever again

The National Title..... oh please, UTexas has as much chance as Ole Miss.
