No contest. George O'Leary for my Notre Dame and it doesnt even come close to any of you SEC fans teams. We hired this dude from Georgia Tech and he lied on his resume and didnt even coach 1 game for us. Our vetting team must have been complete shite. Let me know if any of your teams have hired a coach and fired him weeks later before even coaching a game.

We turned down a young Steve Spurrier to hire good Ole local boy Rocky Felker.

Someone mentioned Gary Gibbs earlier. He had to follow a legend. He went 44-23 and wasn’t that bad.

Not only did he have to follow the King, his hands were tied in scholly/roster numbers due to NCAA violations under Barry if I remember correctly. The real kicker, was he couldn't beat our main rivals. I felt it was wrong to fire him when those limitations were placed on him and with the hell that followed with Smelly and Boo, I'm sure the AD regretted it to.

Lane Kiffin.....You can overcome a bad coach in short time. A punk arse birtch can set your program back 15 years!

Coordinator: Dave Clawson. He was a decent head coach and ran an interesting system but was just a terrible hire by Fulmer. It cost Fulmer his job and began the wandering in the Desert UT is just getting out of.

Coach: Dooley. He was just incapable of leading a program.
2nd coach: Pruitt, just an arrogant son of a bitch that couldn’t get out of his own way.

Fir UGA, Ray Goff. We have been fortunate though. For people retiring now, there have only been 5 coaches in their lifetime. One was a bad hire, one a decent hire (Donnan-his record was similar to Heupel's) and three HOF coaches

Charlie Strong was the ultimate pendulum hire from Mack in every way possible.

UGA has only had 7 Head Coaches since 1939 (86yrs) and Griffith is the only one with a losing record so he gets my vote...

Something else last happened in 1939 but can't quite remember what it was.

That’s because he was handed the keys to a great program. Tennessee had won three SEC titles in the six years before Battle took over. He then proceeded to run the program into the ground because he didn’t recruit worth a damn. He’s basically Tennessee’s Larry Coker.

Butch Jones lost the SEC East title to a very mediocre derek mason ran vanderbilt program

Oh and he also put one of the better running backs in the NFL 2nd string to a guy that played a couple seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver

It has to be Chad Morris or John L. Smith. Wtf, piggies…

For Mizzou, it’s Woody Widenhofer.

Fat. Lazy. Drunk. Incompetent.

Derek Dooley & Jeremy Pruitt. One has no business on the sideline unless it is as a Yell leader for a&M. The other was an idiot that left a shite pile they’re still cleaning up 5 yrs later.

Mike Price from Washington State. Couldn't get past thinking with his little head and never coached an actual game. Wonder what happened to that loser?

I remember Howard Schnellenberger showing up in Norman and predicting under his coaching OU would win multiple national championships.

There was a story I always wondered if it were true about Mrs. Schnellenberger soon after they arrived in Norman, how she went into Target to stock up and was quite surprised and indignant to learn that the wife of the coach of the Oklahoma Sooners was expected to pay for things at local stores.

Then there was the DUI, at what point in his short career at OU did that occur?

LSU - Mike Archer, Curley Hallman, Brian Kelly

Only one deserves to be listed there, and that's Curly.

Archer had the program drop off, but he also coached the team to a 10-1-1 record and finished #5 with Hodson in 1987. That was probably the best LSU team I'd seen in my lifetime, until 2003.

Everyone wants to hate Kelly, but he doesn't come remotely close to Hallman. Kelly had 2 10 win seasons, a 9 and an 8. 4-0 in bowls. He had a Heisman QB and a couple of 1st rd WRs.
For Hallman, show me the winning seasons, bowl wins, or star players. Hint: you won't find much of anything.

Hudson “Curley” Hallman was LSU’s worst by far.
