Just beating so many quality teams.

Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, AND Clemson?

That is every power in college football!

I didn't watch Miami much in 2001 but I do know they were a great team all around, offensively and defensively, unlike your choice, which finished in the lower half of its own conference on defense.

I googled the best college football team of all time and

this was the first link

GD'it, Bill. Just when I think your envy and unresolved Saban daddy issues are eating you alive inside and detrimentally detracting from the genius artistic visionary instincts that reside within you... you produce things such as this and totally redeem yourself.

God bless your conflicted soul, good sir.

as noted in a post above, I googled "the best college football team of alltime". The 3 results I found on the first page that were published after the 2019 season all list 2001 Miami as the best.

This one from Sporting News includes where the offense and defense ranked nationally. LSU, which ranks 3rd in this list, finished lowest in the defensive rankings than any team in the top 10, so that obviously affects that team. sporting news

247 is probably the most often noted source currently, regarding college football. Though I did not find a 247 "best all time" list, I did find this one that lists the best teams since 2000, based on Sagarin calculations 247

The three play drive Against Texas at the end of the half culminated by What I consider the best pass Burrow threw all year to Jefferson. It was at that point I looked at a buddy and said this isn’t the LSU offense. The next day I put $100 on Burrow to win the heisman at 25-1.

Using national ratings of offense and defense to rank the best teams of all time is a weird way to do it considering each team played a different schedule. We know that '01 Miami played about 3 ranked teams as did '95 Nebraska. LSU played seven top 10 teams during their 15 game season. As you can see playing the best teams in the country makes a difference. It's hard to keep sound defensive numbers against great offensive teams. Look at Alabama for example. They had the worst defense they've had in about 12 years yet SP+ ranked their defense third in the nation mostly because Alabama didn't play a soul other than LSU and Auburn during the regular season and were able to hold the little sisters of the poor to low scoring outputs. Glad I could help you with your thoughts. LSU is the best team of all time.
