I get it, but the fact that they are even LOOKING at doing anything further than a token dissent vote is NOT a good look.

...Unless they are examining conference bylaws as a preemptive strike against potential UT shennanigans.

Specifically, the power is with the President of each school. One school isn't going to overpower another, either. SEC don't play dat game.

A&M isn't going to sue because that would be a waste of time and energy. There will be consequences though. You screwed us and we won't forget. Trust is gone.

A&M will be fine. We know how Texas operates and we have leverage over them in State. We have a Top 5 Returning team and a great HC.

Cracks me up seeing so many of you think that being a "Founding Member" will protect you. It's all about the dollar bills and ESPN is running the show now. A&M is safe because we have a ton of value. We can match Texas and Bama dollar for dollar in the new era of paying players. Not sure all of the rest of you can, I guess we will find out.

One thing is certain, the first time A&M and Texas meet on the field those tickets will go for Super Bowl prices.

19, obviously I don’t have a clue about the inner workings of what’s gone on. But for whatever reason, they must believe they have issues to discuss.

I doubt they care whether meeting is a “good look;” their job is to oversee all goings on within the Texas A&M University System. This is a colossally huge deal, so it stands to reason it would be discussed. Fact is it affects Texas A&M University far differently than it does the other 13 SEC member institutions.

If there’s “nothing to see here” ... I’d assume the meeting will adjourn.

But I hear you loudly and clearly and certainly respect your opinion.

No, there will be payback. Until now the A&M administration has laid low and supported bama and the status quo. That shite has ended. And Ross Bjork seems like enough of an ahole to enjoy doing some dirty work.

See, I believe he either talked to no schools or talked to all.

To exclude A&M from discussions he was having with every other member would be legal lunacy on his part.

Then again, I’m no fan of Skanky.

It was a Bush league move and we should work to undermine Sankey but there’s nothing we can actually do that doesn’t hurt us more.

That said, I’m all for a public hissy fit if we expose Sankey as the dick he is

Unless there’s been a legal breach of contract, I’d assume the answer is absolutely nothing.

It’s certainly BS as of now.
Whether that changes remains to be seen.

I knew Sankey the Yankee was trouble the minute we promoted his arse. You know what this is about besides $$$? It’s about Sankey cementing his legacy as the commissioner that took the best conference in college athletics and turned it into a super conference. It’s all about one upping Mike Slive and Roy Kramer. Congratulations Sankey, mission accomplished. May you rot in hell.

Hard to say but A&M has long memories and at some point, you will need our support. Or we will see an opportunity to return the favor. We are patient. 60 years ago we were an all male military school, now we ae the largest Research University in the South or Southwest (yes, larger than Texas).

Ironically this whole thing will probably make us cut a deal with Texas. They are already feeling heat in the Leg. The two most powerful Chairs in the House filed a bill that they needed permission to leave and had a few dozen co-signers. This is a GOP state and most Texas grads are Dems. Abbott is a sip but he doesn't want to get anywhere near this. They would much rather have us as an ally than an enemy especially now that they just pissed off every other school in the state and the people who live in those metro areas. Texas, A&M, and OU combined are a potent combination even if we don't like each other we do know how to work together.

I guess we will see.

You are going to get a small "taste" of what it is to deal with Texas. And as for the rest of the SEC - we could care less what you think anymore

Every team for itself. A&M will help nobody but themselves from now on - Maybe Missouri because of Bowtie.

It's been like that for some time now, it's odd to believe that Aggie has some kind of other level they can bring it to.

For argument purposes.. if Sankey had Tx/Ou discussions with every single President, including A&M, and had no discussions with any AD’s.. what exactly did he do wrong? How exactly did he go behind anyone’s back?

The Presidents are the ones that vote on this.. not the Athletic Directors.. I think that is one area where people get confused in all of this. The SEC (and all other conferences) exist as schools first. The primary objective is education.. and everything else is secondary. Yes, sports are important, especially to anyone posting here, but they are still secondary to the people that matter.

That being said, clearly football is the driving force behind this realignment, but again, I assume that would be the President’s job to discuss with the AD, not Sankey’s.

I just don’t understand A&M’s beef with Sankey, unless you are seriously saying he is corrupt and sneaking around behind your back. While possible, I’m not sure that it is really realistic when the news would come out eventually.
