The on-brand move for him would be to go to Auburn and then go to Alabama once Saban retires.

I think an underrated factor is playoff expansion. Lane has kept us around the top 15 for the past two seasons. If we finish 10-2 again, we could make a theoretical 12-team playoff field this season and absolutely would have made it last season. If we assume a 12-team playoff format, Auburn was not a playoff contender last year, they aren't a playoff contender this year, and they won't be a playoff contender next year. With how decimated their roster is, they might not be a 12-team playoff contender until 2025.

Lane is 22-4 in his last 26 games at Ole Miss. Auburn is 11-15 in their past 26 games. Does he want to leave the program he's rebuilt from the ground up and do it all again at Auburn with a shorter leash and higher expectations?

You’re a simpleton. The only point I was making is that auburn is clearly better, but is it better “enough”

Lol So one poster, they’re big 6, but bottom

You, well now 12 team playoff we will make it.

If you aren’t top 4 you’re not gonna win it.

He could go to Auburn and have better shot at making it than at OM.

It was a hypothetical argument that Kiffin in theory is a guy who one day could get any job, does he want to hold out for that or does he want to coach at Auburn? Because he can’t do both

If you could read you would understand that

Oh btw here’s something that’s not up for debate

Ole Miss and Arkansas had opening at the same time

Kiffin had discussions with both schools

Kiffin chose Ole Miss.

Eat it bitch, and go back to your hole

^ another fallacy deflecting and now talking about Arkansas because you can’t defend how OM is better supposedly.

Context matters. Look at the post I initially responded to.

I’m trying to actually discuss this reasonably and not flame, and you attacked me of all people. I can only assume this is because I’m an Ole Miss fan and you are personally still bitter 3 years later.

Let it go

Next year? No shot.

2024? Probably not.

Auburn has no QB, no good skill players outside of Tank, a bad offensive line, and an average defense. Kiffin would have to rebuild their entire roster and that doesn't happen in one recruiting cycle.

This is a close minded view. Almost every SEC and big ten job are top 25 jobs going forward. Only few are exceptions. With the new money coming in form the new deal next year, that elevates school like ole miss more than it elevates a school like auburn who already had that money

I don't think Auburn gets Kiffin, but to be fair it doesn't take as long to rebuild anymore with the transfer portal. He could have them going pretty strong in 2024.

You’re talking to OM fans. Who are 5-5 with Ark over last 10, vacated 2 and down in overall record by a lot.

TRUST THEM !!!

“ Ole Miss can only by law offer a 4 year contract...
Auburn can offer a 6,8,10 year contract.
Stability is worth something.”

Stability and Auburn cannot be used in the same sentence.
