A bye product of Bama's last 15 years of success has been an infinite number of sidewalk fans including "fans" from random areas in other states like the MS coast. This includes young adults that have never seen a Bama team out of the NC discussion.

Before they were Bama "fans," the MS Coast sidewalkers were LSU "fans."

To be fair, the Mississippi Gulf Coast is an oddity in that there are tons of transplants and Tuscaloosa/Baton Rouge are just as far or closer than Ole Miss or State.

Alabama fans that think that because they predict their team to win every year, and that has come true during the Saban era, that they are football savants. Nevermind that they made the same predictions of greatness during the Fran/Price/Shula years…

LSU fans holding onto missed calls, chop blocks, or any perceived slight for decades.

The Ohiofication of Atlanta, and UGA’s fanbase as a result. What used to be a pleasant southern group of fans now has massive amounts of kids who act like trash bag NFL or Ohio State fans.

Lots of younger "fans" tend to be bandwagon fans, and that goes for all sports. Also the Gulf Coast is a hodgepodge of SEC teams and fans, so casuals that don't have any attachment to their local university can easily pick up fandom for Bama. I don't think that's necessarily bad. Limiting fanbases to strictly the city and/or state they play in is some gatekeeping shite.

I agree with you about Atlanta. The fricks from some rando private liberal arts school in the rust belt moving here I've been over for the last 10 years.

But the Ohioians are pretty loyal to Tosu even if they didn't go to school there. A woman in my office went to Wright State but still pulls for Tosu. I'm pretty sure she'd pull for Tosu if they played Wright State.

Grew up in the panhandle in the 80’s and 90’s. 90% FSU fans. I knew 1 Alabama fan. Now it’s at least 50% Alabama

The fricking retarded grown men who bark at UGA. Seriously the stupidest fricking thing in all of college football...and that's from a fan base whose number one cheer brags about being a drunk a-hole.
