Lose a non-P5 game? Lose 3 conf. games in a row?

Be himself
Itll probably take 6-6 which is certainly possible. But they'll win some SEC games on talent alone. I doubt they'll be 2012 Auburn bad

What did it take for les? Lose 3-4 games?

Lose the majority of his SEC games and not make a bowl

It could be a 3-4 win season for them. No way he makes it through that.

Les was a culmination of years of issues and losing to bama though.

IMO anything less than 9-3 and hes gone.

I highly, highly doubt he's gone if we muster up an 8-4 season finishing 5-3 in the SEC. Unless they fire for cause.

3-5 or worse in conference. 4-4 they probably give him another year because of the buyout. 5-3 or better and he's safe as long as there are no more Title IX/NCAA revelations.
This is assuming they don't lose any of their remaining OOC games. If that happens then all bets are off and he's probably gone mid-season.

He isn't going anywhere this year. Buyout is way too high thanks to the Woodward extension. Likely at LSU through 2022 season unless they can figure out how to fire him for cause.
Even though LSU does not pay the buyout it would have to be approved by the LSU admins as he is an employee of the University. Optics for a $20M+ buyout with the SJW admins is just too bad in the current environment. Admins are focused on climate change.
LSU fans can hope but it is very unlikely to happen.

He’s on pace to repeat Les miles in the 2015-2016 fiasco.
Will win the next 2
I’m guessing he’ll go 1-2 vs MSU/Aub/Kentucky
* 2 losses being embarrassing like UCLA/2020
My guess, he’ll be fired the Sunday after Kentucky.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if SW let him coach the season to a 5-7 type season.

If they have another embarrassment like the 2020 Auburn game, I could see it happening midseason.

I have a theory that history is about to repeat itself and he is going to end up getting fired because of a stupid fourth down decision that costs him the game in Starkville in a couple of weeks. 2007 Egg Bowl Part Deux.

This is false, the buyout is $21M and with everything going on it would either get negotiated down a lot or he will get fired for cause and get nothing.
At any rate, boosters have supposedly already come forward and $21M is a drop in the bucket if needed. Not like we're on the hook for $90M like at A&M.

Regardless, doubt he's fired IN season
even if he muddles through with head barely above
water---a miraculous turnaround and he likely
stays, as winning always buries the problems for
another season. LSU lawyers are placed in
a delicate & unique situation of defending the school
against ignoring sexual abuse and assault allegations,
while building a case on Orgeron for
show-cause purposes.

What would he have to do to reach this threshold, given what Wade did and DIDN’T get fired for cause?

If he was Woodward's guy, I would agree. But hes not Woodward's guy

What has to happen for Orgeron to be fired in season?
If there was a coordinator with any experience on staff, I think he'd already be the interim. I kinda think O made the hires he did, to avoid that scenario.
But, one more non-football issue will do it.
And one more embarrassing performance on the field would, too. I don't mean a loss, I mean guys looking like they're playing volleyball instead of football on defense. But I think that plays more to the "end of season" eval, not midseason.
If we see or hear his arse on Twitter again, he's gone.

He barely survived the end of the 2015 season when LSU lost 3 games in a row. In 2016 LSU lost 2 out the first 3 games. The loss against Auburn due to poor clock management was his last game

I’ll bet money he’s fired after their inevitable loss to Arkansas.
