He did lead Ole Miss to their second 10-win season in the last 60 years or so.

Besides be mediocre and talk shite on Twitter? Maybe Ole Miss should’ve let him go to barners instead of letting Freeze get the job. Freeze will succeed at barn.

His persona is perfect fit for Ole Miss.

Also he's the best coach that OM can get. OM has never been an easy place to recruit to.

Any Ole Miss fan that thinks we can do better is delusional and unrealistic af.

Biggest reason I like Kiffin is that he's not letting the OM alumni big dick him...unlike our previous head coaches. He runs shite how he wants. He has more autonomy at OM than anywhere else.

To be fair, that's a pretty small club compared to the thousands of football coaches in FBS college football:

Well, also to be fair, it's a pretty large club if we include all assistant coaches with national title rings

Well, to be fair, counselor, I was responding to a poster who said Lane does not have a national championship as a head coach, which is why I brought up all living national championship coaches to illustrate how small that club is.

He’s objectively been a success at Ole Miss but I think he may have hit his ceiling already with that second year. I think he leans too much into analytics and I don’t get all the QB additions this off-season. Like Freeze, I don’t know that he’s put enough emphasis on defense and it limits OM’s ceiling. I think he’s a good coach with flaws.

The contract is an issue now too. OM paid an absurd amount to keep him, and going to Texas Bowl and the Music City Bowl at $9M a year doesn’t really cut it.

Freeze beat Bama. That's really his only claim to fame if you look at his overall body of work.

Not as HC.

He was on Carroll's USC staff in the early 2000's, which seems to be the root of his fame. HC of the Raiders, Tennessee, and USC, all of which ended in pure disaster. I've never seen the amount of hate he generated, not just from fanbases, but from administration and owner-front office.

He "rehabbed" his image with Saban at Alabama, but again, things ended in an ugly manner.

Raiders definitely ended in disaster. Tennessee loved him and he left for his dream job. USC was on sanctions and probably could’ve have given him a little more time. He was working with minimal scholarships. They went 9-4 the next year after he was fired then 7-6 after that. Saban greatly helped him overall on how to manage a program though as seen with FAU and so far at Ole Miss despite the ending of last season. He desperately needs a better defense and has been recruiting towards one but it’ll take another year or so. I think in 2024 he’ll have another shot at 10+ wins. This year will be about the same record as last season 8-5 or 9-4 including bowl game
