a former player from college during the season because one of their NFL players got hurt?

The NFL has already said that if a player returns to college, he can't play in the NFL in 2026.

They have a rule against this in the NFL I believe.

NFL doesn't allow it as they remind everyone this weekend.

Can't imagine why they would go back to the NFL. They will probably make more money in college, and if they did go back to the NFL due to injury, they would be cut from the NFL team as soon as the regular player returned.
But, the other posters are correct. The NFL has said that any player ging back to college would be ineligible for the 2026 season.

Yep. They are also ineligible for the nfl draft.

Yes they are free agents next year. Which is a plus for them.

In some regards yes. In others not so much. NFL has a hard cap on UDFA signing bonuses, and it’s not a lot. If they somehow turned their game around into rd 1-4 talent level they’d lose a ton on guaranteed $ too.

What if an nfl team cut a player during a season? Would that player are eligible to enroll a school to play CFP games?

All it will take is a judge ruling the NFL cannot deny a player the opportunity to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,

If this policy lasts a year I'll be shocked.

This is a one year thing and only applies to the class of 2022. It's crazy how many people don't get that.
