I would be shocked if this were a one year thing. Players want to get paid. As of now…every thing is on their side. Why would someone not try to extend Eliot 6 or 7 or 15? Why not…they will probably win and get paid. Can’t blame them. The blame is on the institutions who cave. No university can be forced to allow someone a uniform. This is why caving to the transfer chaos or the olay for pay is the fault of the universities that make up the ncaa. Don’t give in.

Yeah, no doubt. Most athletes in all the major pro leagues WANT to be a FA. They have all the control over where they sign and for how much.
I know it’s unlikely but say someone like Pyburn or another one of these players not even at LSU. Say they set a conference stat record and their play just jumps out on tape. Think of the case of Burrow.
Could you imagine him going into the NFL as a free agent with no slot value for him dependent on his draft position?

They get put on waivers and any team can take on their contract.

This is a one year thing and only applies to the class of 2022. It's crazy how many people don't get that.
It absolutely, 100% will not end up as a one year thing.

What happens when an NFL team decides to call back a former player from college during the season because one of their NFL players got hurt?
It's insane that you don't know that the NFL doesn't work like this.

He is still under the CBA as undrafted without having accrued any years of active service. The most he could get year one is a million or so, which would be a stretch, and far less than what a 4th round guy will make.

The NFL has already said that if a player returns to college, he can't play in the NFL in 2026.
That must outrage you. That is potentially restricting someone from pursuing income.
It is the same commonsense logic that led the SEC to announce that if a player chose to play in the NFL he can’t return to college.
You must be irate at this injustice.
