In the 2023 class with recruits still thinking Texas and OU would wait to join the SEC in 2025, 18 of Texas’ top 25 recruits stayed in state or went to OU. All 6 top 30 5 star recruits went to Texas, OU, or aTm (2 each school). OU landed a top 5 class coming off a 6-7 season.

Who relies on Texas recruiting? Gimme southeast players all day.

In my opinion, no one is helped by the addition of UT and OU. No one but them

Arkansas was already getting top players from Oklahoma.

Arkansas doesn't put as much emphasis on Texas as much as they struggle putting out defensive talent especially defensive linemen. Sam had to go to Georgia for that.

Indeed. And Texas will now have an easier time recruiting lineman out of the southeast while continuing (and strengthening) its ability to recruit skill positions out of Texas.

OU and Texas will be hurt the most. They will never compete in the SEC.

Florida and usce are hurt the most. They played an 8 game sec sched that featured Kentucky vandy and mizzou(the poorest rosters composite talent wise) but had ooc games against acc juggernauts. They're losing the annual gimme wins but keeping the permanent ooc games. The sec just got a lot harder for these two.

You weren’t stealing elite talent from Texas and OU anyways, but with Texas now firmly an SEC state with multiple Arkansas games played in Texas and Oklahoma as well as Arkansas games on Texas tvs Arkansas should be able to feast on quality 3 and low end 4 star talent from Texas instead of fighting schools like TCU and Ok St for it.

We'll see. We play A&M in Arlington every year and when they joined the conference people thought the same thing would happen but our Texas recruiting has been virtually identical to what it was before they joined.

We've actually done a decent job head to head recruiting against Texas lately (Jalen Catalon - who is ironically now there, Drew Sanders, Ketron Jackson, John Ridgeway) because we can sell playing in the SEC but now that's a moot point. It's hard to tell how it will go honestly.

Maybe in the longer run but UT & OU will initially be exposed for the turds they are. This will push top talent to real SEC powerhouses.

UT has been in the SEC since its inception.

I told a friend of mine who is an Oklahoma alum that the school will soon regret joining the SEC.

The same type of situation that occurred when Nebraska joined the BigTen. Nebraska was a storied program. Now they are a mediocre team that has a tough time recruiting.

I get Oklahoma has not played defense in a while and Texas has been inconsistent but both programs are one great hire away from making a run.

Every team in America is one great hire from making a run. There aren't that many great coaches to fill the quota.

The only reason to single BAMA out is to confirm who your greatest fear continues to be in the conference. But BAMA fans knew that.

What current SEC teams are helped

Picking up a win against Utx - austin should help all but if they continue to suck seems it hurts in the long haul.

UT will be hurt the most if they are not paired with Utx as at least the annual loser will have the inside track on the "Life Champions" Trophy every year.

I don't see Oklahoma being a power in the sec but they're in a much different and frankly better position than Nebraska. Nebraska benefitted from unlimited walk ons going through the first real strength and conditioning program(also steroids were there) bit even more importantly Nebraska heavily recruited texas and cali, Cali dried up them with the rise of usc and fall of Nebraska. Then Nebraska cut themselves off from thier last recruiting pipeline by exiting Texas. OU is bringing thier well with them.

I think it helps Mizzou a bit against the irrelevant message board cultural misfits rants to add a historic Big 8 rival and another Texas school. By weakening the Big 12, it also helps Mizzou a bit in terms of recruiting grounds. Especially competing for recruits in the KC metro, Mizzou offers the SEC close to home while Kansas and Kansas State are stuck in a commuter and truck stop conference.

TX has even't been relevant in the Lil'12 in over a decade. Last championship was '09.

OU has at least been a Lil'12 "powerhouse" but has flopped big time in CFPs.

Both are not ready for primetime. Sark probably has just this season before the boosters do what they do. Turnover, again.
