Charleston native. Longstanding rival with the rednecks in Columbia and the white trash in Myrtle Beach.

Historical rivals with the islands of Barbados and Bermuda due to the colonial cultural ties.

I currently live in Raleigh and there is serious rivalry between Raleigh and Charlotte.

Charlotte is obviously significantly larger, so to some degree they are in different leagues, but lots of the business leaders there were pissed when Raleigh made the list of finalists for Amazon's HQ2 and Charlotte didn't. I've noticed some Raleigh people downplay what a nice downtown Charlotte has. I read media from both places and they both take swipes at each other. It's funny though bc the two cities have so much more in common than they do with the rest of the state.

I don't live in Augusta Ga but close and they were livid with Atlanta for cutting them out of any of the Olympic events back in 1996. It was kinda funny really

I figured for New Orleans it would be Baton Rouge since so many people from Tulane live there

A quick look shows that poverty seems to be my hometown's rival... and its winning hands down. On the plus side it did make (just barely) the top 2000 high schools in America so it has that going for it.

High school ? Destrehan vs Hahnville Look at the players who have come from those two schools. Unreal. Including soon to be NFL hall of fame inductee Ed Reed.

Louisville is our ancient rival. From horses to bourbon to basketball, Lexington and Louisville have gone head to head over just about everything. It all got started when the two cities were competing to be the capital of the Commonwealth in the 1780s. It resulted in a draw with the Mistake on the River, Frankfort, as the compromise winner.
