I went to the Ole Miss-Florida game this past weekend and then of course watched our game in Tiger Stadium on TV.

It was great to see live football and I’m glad we at least have that back, but the juice was obviously missing. No tailgating in the grove, spring game sized crowd, etc. Tiger stadium is not tiger stadium with only ~20k in the stands. I’m sure Starkville will be the same way this weekend.

I know this question is political in nature but this is not a political question, just a question about the opinions of the rest of the board. I know desantis In Florida has relaxed restrictions in a pretty big way, but I also saw where he still plans to have stadium restrictions. I figure Florida may be our best shot.

Is there any chance whatsoever we get to see an SEC game, whether it’s played in Florida, MS, Georgia, Alabama, etc., with a full stadium this year?

Sure would be nice

Anyone familiar with the ticket process with major universities knows how much a cluster it would be to walk back all the restrictions and changes this year.

I just don't see how they can do without pissing everyone off even more.

Damn that’s a good point, didn’t think about that.

The chances are minute, but I guess in the event that we are able to open it up they could just reach out to opted out season ticket holders first, and then sell tickets through the box office each week before the game.

Would be chaotic for the box offices I’m sure

I think noisemakers should be allowed this year for everyone.

I could see doing small amount, maybe up to 30% towards the end.

I think there will definitely be full stadiums in Florida before the season is over. Desantis just opened all over the bars & restaurants in Florida to max capacity and normal hours. He has said clearly, no matter what, there will be no going back to restrictions. Desantis has already said the 2021 Super Bowl to be held in Tampa will not have any limitations.

Probably 0% unless the conference allows it.

SEC says

Attendance

Institutions shall determine the number of guests permitted to attend in accordance with applicable state and local guidelines, policies and/or regulations. In the absence of state and/or local guidelines, policies and/or regulations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations on physical distancing should be applied.

I don’t even think we will have full capacity next season. I could see next season going up to 50% and then in 2022 be back to normal. I’ve read some expert say that it will be end of 2021 beginning of 2022 before we are back to normal

Florida could. Their governor just ended the mandates and is barring local officials from enforcing mandates. If UF really wanted to open the gates, they could. They should.

It wouldn't be fair for the teams that play more games at home with restrictions. Is it fair for SC to play UT at home at 20% capacity where a full house could've made a difference in the outcome, but then have to play at LSU per say that has a full house?

I don’t know about regular season games but as of now the plan for the SECCG is:

quote:

Seating will be adjusted for social distancing (6 feet) between each group or pod of 1-4 fans, meaning about 3 seats between each group. Also fans will not have anyone sitting directly behind them or directly in front.
