. There is zero basis to argue that the SEC hasn't earned every bit of the flowers that are being thrown at it for this season. It's all based on a big sample size of games against teams from across the country by teams up and down the conference. None of it is based on history or theoretical match ups or vegas odds or any non-tangible thing - it's just cold hard facts taken from games played on the court. But if we have a couple of rough nights or matchups in the tournament you can bet your arse people are going to love talking about how the SEC wasn't really that good.

Florida, Missouri, Tennessee -- three road wins.
The Missouri - Oklahoma game is meaningful, only because I believe Mizzou wins. That will slam the door shut on Oklahoma's NCAA hopes for 2025, unless they somehow win the SEC tourney (not impossible).

Which is crazy because I've seen #1 seeds lose in the first round (something considered completely impossible not that long ago); you never know who will make the Final Four.
To contrast, six 11 seeds (the lowest seed to make it) have been to the Final Four - 5 of which have happened since 2006 (only 1986 LSU is the outlier). Two have happened since the turn of the decade (2021 UCLA and 2024 NC State).
While #1 seeds are the most likely to win it all, only once has all four #1 seeds made the Final Four (2008) and only 5 times did three out of four #1 seeds make it.

I would still rather get the higher SEC #2 seed and get the East but if we lose @Bama and TN beats Ole Miss we will definitely not get the East and will probably get stuck in San Francisco if we advance.

I said a while back that @ Tennessee was the most winnable of our last 3 games, and I believe that to still be true, unfortunately.
Bama knocked off Fla in Tuscaloosa last season, and is the favorite tonight.
The pace of this game might be ridiculous. Would be very surprised if it doesn't go over the 178.5 O/U mark that Vegas has set.
