If Notre Dame loses this weekend, the road to the playoffs looks very shaky for them with their weak schedule
It already looks probable that we see at least 1 and maybe even 2 three loss SEC teams in the playoffs
But I have to admit, it makes me feel kind of gross pulling for the Hurricanes…

Isn't there some way both teams could lose? That's my choice.

Miami needs to beat ND by double digits to bury ND's playoff chances.

Is Miami playing the University of Tehran?
Then no, I am not a Miami fan.

With a loss, they’ll move up to #9 based on committee logic

I will root for a lousy game where both teams look like a pile of crap with Notre Dame shitting the bed the worst.
I want to see the post game fights between the fan bases.

Even if Miami wins I doubt it buries notre dames chances. The way everyone keeps losing if the committee has a bunch of 9-3 teams to choose from they might just punt and take 10-2 notre dame. It’ll definitely slim notre dames chances but they could easily sneak in if some teams ahead of them catch some bad losses late.

Why all the ND hate? They are a great football program with a National following.
Schedules are made years ahead. You cannot control what your opponents do.
When this schedule was made most likely Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Carolina, Stanford were all better football teams than they are currently. And yes, they have some soft teams, Rice, BC, Syracuse, Navy etc.
All that to say, they still have to win to make the playoff. Miami is a must win for ND.
Last year they were 10-2 and did not make the playoff. So I don’t see any bias there.
In the 2024 playoff, they smacked Georgia and made it to the NC game. I would hardly call that a fluke.
All that to say again, I don’t see the hate. They still have to earn their way in.

Sounds like Toney is either not playing or playing very hurt. This is worst case for everyone not named Notre Dame and Miami.
Notre Dame is going to win and solidify their spot in the playoff and Miami is going to use the Toney was not at 100% card and won't drop that far.
Brutal

miami arent going to knock out a deserving team of the playoffs, their ACC spot is baked in. be prepared for egregious refereeing in ND's favor

I'm biased of course, but they played against Gunner in his 1st start ever, on a day where Kirby's dad fell, was hospitalized, and passed several days later. A bit of a fluke as Gunner had no idea how to adjust the play at the time & was eaten alive by their D line (credit to them for taking advantage though)
Their next win was against James Franklin, famous big game loser

Hadn’t thought about this but you’re probably right. In terms of bubble teams having Miami and Utah go undefeated would alleviate some pressure and add loses to other acc/big 12 teams. Those extra loses could be the difference in whether they’re a 1 or 2 bid league.
