USC told Beamer he had to accept certain Coaches

Four South Carolina coaches will be retained by Shane Beamer —
Mike Bobo, Des Kitchings, Tracy Rocker and Mike Peterson.
The other three hires at this point:
— Pete Lembo (special teams coordinator)
— Erik Kimrey (tight ends coach)
— Will Friend (offensive line coach

Those things are not mutually exclusive. USCe and Auburn can both be dumpster fires.

I remember when Mike Hamilton told David Cutcliffe that he could have the Tennessee job as long as he didn’t bring his Duke staff with him. Cutcliffe told him to go frick himself.

Why would they want him to keep Mike Bobo? He never impressed me as an OC. Hell, didn't Richt have to continually take over play calling duties from him when he was at UGA? Only thing I can think of is that the guy must have an expensive buyout or something.

His contact was for 1.2 Mil per year through 2021. Not sure what the buyout would be.
At least now we know why they had to hire a special teams coach.

Mike Bobo is the key to the Gunner Stockton recruitment, a 5 star 2022 QB. He isn’t worth it though. I don’t think he’s a good coordinator first of all. And these coaches with UGA stink on them are bad news. Muschamp already crashed Florida and South Carolina from their heights. Grantham finally killed the strong defensive tradition Florida had. Now South Carolina keeps Bobo. Both Florida and South Carolina keep stepping on the same banana peel.
