As I pointed out, we are better than them in almost every sport besides soccer. So yeah, I do wonder why.
For now but the rest of the worlld is catching up, America has grown soft in sports...Hell todays football players sit out games over hangnails and no way they could survive 2 a day training camps of the 60's,70's and 80's. QB's and Recievers should wear a flag of a skirt.

We are becoming a soft "dont hurt my feelings" culture

Looking at his career winning numbers as a coach, Europe also rewards losers

Since i was talking about the coach who made the comment, i meant more being promoted from efl to epl with a 38% win rate.

You made the comment while ignoring the context he was speaking from, which is about TEAMS tanking for better draft picks rather than being relegated for sucking.

That is basically what IMG is you just have to have the money to go there at that age.

Maybe don't get your arse beat up and down the field by Belgium. US was never in it in that game and it was pitiful. Fans were there for the whole thing though.

Yeah it's been that way for a long time. But because European soccer is more competitive that does not mean they aren't a bunch of pussies. We kick their asses in everything. They have soccer for obvious reasons that have nothing to do with "US sports rewards losers". That coach can suck a dick. His team failed and now he's stepping up from throwing his team under the bus to throwing an entire nation under the bus.

He’s right. All these die hard
capitalists who want the taxpayer
to support college and pro sports
and shield their teams from failure. Socialize the costs, privatize the profits.

you're taking it out of context but he is correct, and we have major conversations about tanking all the time.

Without relegation teams do go into loser mentalities

Also all those sports you mentioned have seen a rise in other countries challenging the US. Ex, the best NBA players are foreign. The best hockey players are foreign, and the best baseball players are foreign.

Is tanking for the best draft pick rather than getting relegated to a lower league not a perfect example of how it isn't bullshite?

Anyone is free to join such a school here.

The real problem with men's soccer in the USA is Title 9. Until they exempt American football from Title 9 athletic counts, men's sports will suffer.

This. It's arguably the biggest stonewall against major success in the men's side of the sport.

Trader? I don't think I mentioned any trades...Oh you meant "Traitor". I don't think being honest about the current state of American sports is being a traitor. If you want to live in an echo chamber where you tell yourself we are the best at everything then that is only going to make you bitterly disappointed when we stop winning things.

Fact is we own a majority of the best sports leagues, but those leagues are being filled with more and more foreign players who can compete at the highest level. We don't run Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, sprinting, etc like we used to and that is just a fact.

And there is no debating that a common sports topic every fall/winter is teams tanking for draft picks. It does create a loser mentality and that also is just a fact

I disagree. I believe a bigger issue is that we price kids out of a sport that they arent sure they want to do. Youth soccer is huge, but it is expensive as hell. Arguably youth basketball is moving that way, and youth baseball is already there.

Yep. It already killed men's gymnastics and men's wrestling. Soccer wasn't popular before and hasn't had the chance to get there.

Let's play Europe in basketball, baseball,

Our national teams came in second in Baseball in the last world competition, and fourth in basketball at the last FIBA World Cup.

Basketball lost the semi final to Germany, and then the 3rd place game to Canada.

American Football internationally: Japan slaughtered our u20 team in the most recent tournament for American Football 41-20. We didn't even place.

We aren't as great at "American" Sports as y'all want to believe we are. Other countries have focused on finding the athletes suited to those sports and are catching up to us significantly. We need to focus on doing the same in soccer.
