Unnamed SEC AD says someone will take a chance on Reverend Freeze

Multiple industry sources tell me Freeze wants to return to the SEC but may not get a chance this offseason. In most typical seasons, SEC schools could financially handle 8-figure buyouts.
In this COVID season, where athletic departments are hemorrhaging cash and getting bank loans to keep specific programs afloat, the idea of paying millions for a coach to not coach isn’t exactly the best optics.

“I don’t know if you’re going to see (coaching) change because of this unique season and the loss of revenue,” an SEC athletic director told me. “But would (Freeze) be considered? Let just say this: Someone will take a chance, if not this year, next.”

Of course they will. Track the plane from Columbia to Lynchburg Va. if I was USC AD I’d be camping out.

USC makes sense to me. He can coach when he has his head on his shoulders and for his sake I hope he's learned from his past mistakes (and I'm not just talking about hookers).

Programs hemorrhaging cash and taking out loans to keep teams afloat are in a world of hurt, I don't see them them operating in the black any time soon. This Covid shite's going to have far reaching effects for yrs down the road.

I would think Southern Miss would also be in play but I don't think they can handle the money situation.

Last thing we need. The worst type of scumbag there is.

Luckily, my school won't be in the market next offseason.

Would be a big hire for SC if we could get him.

Every school in the SEC would take a chance on him if they had an opening. He’s proven he knows how to win.

Someone meaning South Carolina. They would hire the Devil himself at this point if it meant getting closer to Dabo and Clemson. I don’t blame them.

With Liberty's extension of Freeze, it makes him that much more expensive.

Can South Carolina even afford it with the revenue dip? Would be an absolute homerun hire.

When we have individual donors saying they will single handedly pay Muschamp's buyout themselves just to get rid of him, it can be done.

Might as well be LSU, once they let O get back to shrimpin’.

Any school that would keep Wade on the payroll,...

VOLS could really use him but we are going to hold onto Pruitt too long and then miss the boat when South Carolina or Auburn hires Rev.

Vanderbilt: he'd garner interest in the program from casuals in the city if the Titans start sucking again.

Had Ole Miss not went after Kiffin last year and kept Luke for more year, he would be back in Oxford.
