I doubt it. Here's the secret nobody realizes about Boise St: While they pretend to be a regular G5 team etc, their budget and such is well above the teams they play.

So I'm guessing Boise St isn't very upset. They should be winning more given their resources.

Definitely not a home run but not a disaster either. Wait and see like most mid major guys.

Winning at Boise is like winning at VCU or Dayton in basketball. They are the premier school in a smaller conference and have been for 25 years. Gotta look a little deeper than that.

He had a solid reputation.

He’s going to be Saban’s bitch.

Twitter also loved the Leach hire and bashed the Pittman hire.

I had to look up who he was. And then I texted the name to an Auburn friend, and he says “who is that”. He was not happy when he googled it.

I don't think it's a terrible hire. He hasn't been bad at Boise, and Auburn will put a lot more resources at his disposal.

I don't think he's a home run hire, but really nobody outside of Urban would have been. I definitely think Harsin has potential to do well at Auburn.

Bet he keeps some current staff members to help with the recruiting part.

With no dog in this fight I think it's a homerun hire for Auburn. His record at every coaching level is near perfect - far better than any previous Auburn coach. If Harsin doesn't let the SEC glare blind him he could be pretty special.

I wouldn’t say that. He’s been solid but Boise has dropped off a decent amount from where Petersen had them

His krooting ability and the fact that he has basically zero ties in the south is what would worry me imo

You are worried about him recruiting in the SEC now that he hasn't had much success in recruiting at BSU. But at Auburn who knows! Maybe the other coaches that are going to stay on will help him out.
I am glad Missouri didn't get him. Why? Mizzou haven't been successful in recruiting in general. In-State top recruits been going to blue blood and elsewhere. Drinkwitz is starting to get some recruits so I have hope for Mizzou getting more top recruits In-State and elsewhere.
Bryan Harsin is at Auburn and is a lot easier to recruit top players than at Mizzou. Doesn't mean he will suck at Auburn due to not being a good recruiter. Mizzou got lucky to get Drinkwitz and he is a much better recruiter and is getting one Million less than what Harsin would have gotten at 5 Million a year.

I see Leach is good but he is lazy! He refuses to make any adjustments and it took him a while to finally admitted that he needed to make adjustments.
Will he do that from now on? Might make some adjustment then stick with it until it doesn't work for 2 games or so then make another adjustment.

I G5 appearance in a major bowl since he got there and that was in his first year with Peterson's guys in 2014. He couldnt make it out of the MTN West unscathed each year.

Y’all shite on Jimbo. The most sure thing there could be for a HC. Short of Stealing Saban from Bama this was always going to be the reaction.

Probably didn't think he was going to be available, to be frank.

Boise is a pretty cush job, if you think about it. Going to be 10-2 at worst in any given year, enough name recognition that they will get ranked (and thus have a chance at a NY6 bowl if they can run the table). If you do good there and want to move, odds are you have your choice of the Pac 12 North schools (Oregon and Washington being good options) when they open up.

Wouldn't figure him to come to the SEC, and get caught up in the dogfights here. Recruiting... that's not something an Auburn should be afraid of. They should have a pretty solid built-in pool to choose from.

He isn't a very good recruiter. But Auburn isn't a bad place to recruit. Also he should get other current coaches on staff to help with recruiting.

These schools recruit themselves. Too many programs have killed themselves going after “recruiters”
