Does Arkansas show up in this or are they a step below?
The Pigs didn't join the Conference until 1992. Nevertheless, they've had 22 1,000 yard backs over the past 50 seasons, including 17 since joining the conference in 1992. They've also had three seasons with multiple 1,000 yard backs.

No, they don't. They really don't. No one in Alachua County considers Florida to be a better running backs school than Georgia.

I'll type slowly here so you can follow:
The "U" in RBU means University.
That means in college.
UGA has had some good ones.

Seems like AL, AU, GA, LSU, and ARKY are the SEC RB schools.
Very surprised at the people saying UF... never thought about them having good backs.

Quarterbacks, yes. Running backs, no. Outside of Emmit Smith, Fred Taylor, and Errict Rhett, their running backs have been average at best. Unless you count Tebow.

And although LSU has had some good RBS I thought of them as "DB"U

Texas has a case..
Earl Campbell
Ricky Williams
Jamaal Charles
Priest Holmes
All had 10,000+ yards of offense in the NFL
plus 3 other Doak Walker award winners
Cedric Benson
Donta Foreman
Bijan Robinson
They may not be number 1 (that’s Miami) but they are up there pretty high on the list.

How about 'Has Been U'?
I don't keep up with the pros too much, but on a college level, UGA has produced the best RBs overall, and it's not even close.

and Ill explain like you are 5. The context where the U is used when referencing a position is in regards to the alumni produced by said school that go on and play in the NFL. The U is used to tie the players back to the university. Get it now?

UGA hasnt even produced the best RBs in the SEC.
Alabama has 9 of the top single season SEC rushers since 1956. UGA has 6, the same as Auburn.

I think the problem lies in the definition. What should be the definition of RBU?
As an example, Priest Holmes was pretty good at Texas, but he wasn’t great. But during his NFL career, you could have made the argument that he was the best running back in the league during some of the years he played. He certainly was the best running back for fantasy purposes.
Why?
Offensive Scheme matters (Priest Holmes)
Injuries happen (Earl Campbell)
Longevity matters (Emmitt Smith)
Offensive Line matters (ES)
Put Barry Sanders in Dallas and he is the undisputed best running back of all time.
Barry Sanders 10 seasons, 10 Pro Bowls
College production and where you are drafted should matter, but even that depends on the offense that team ran during college.
Marshall Faulk was simply incredible at San Diego State. He was really good with the Colts. He was a Hall of Famer with the Rams.
So what should be the definition of RBU, DBU, etc? This argument can’t be won by any team until that definition is established.
But y’all won’t agree on the definition because you are all biased to fit the criteria of the team you support.

Lots of criteria you could use for this. Just looking quickly at the top 150 career leaders in rushing, here are the SEC representatives:
1. Emmitt - UF
17. Taylor - UF
25. Lewis - UT
36. Alexander - Bama
40. Taylor - LSU
42. Henry - Bama
45. Walker - UGA
50. Ingram - Bama
54. Davis - Aub
55. Hearst - UGA
56. Brooks - Aub
58. Davis - UGA
59. Rogers - USCe
66. Garner - UT
67. Hampton - UGA
68. Foster - UT
81. Chubb - UGA
90. Anderson - UF
93. McAllister - Ole Miss
94. Henry - UT
96. Gurley - UGA
98. Wilder - Missou
100. Andrews - Aub
101. Johnson - Aub
105. Van Buren - LSU
106. Stewart - UT
108. Casares - UF
109. Staley - USCe
121. McFadden - Ark
124. Brown - Aub
127. Cribbs - Aub
141. Kamara - UT
149. Williams - UF
Using this list, one could argue that UGA is RBU of the SEC. No way would they compete with Miami, USC, and a few others (likely including our 2 future members).
On the list above, obviously Florida is the most top heavy with the 2 highest ranked.
As for quantity, UGA, Auburn, and UT are tied with 6, Florida has 5, Bama 3, LSU/USCe 2, and Missou/Ole Miss/Ark 1.
Using a weighting system of 150 points for #1 and 1 point for #150, the points are as follows:
UGA - 504
UT - 406
Aub - 344
UF - 390
Bama - 325
LSU - 157
USCe - 134
Ole Miss - 58
Missou - 53
Ark - 30
A few notes:
I may have missed someone as the college was not on the list I looked at.
Obviously, Auburn's best RB is left off this list due to playing part-time in an injury shortened career.
These are rushing stats only, so it undervalues all-purpose backs.
Cam was #112, but I guess we can't count him for Auburn.
I was a little surprised by some of the names included and missing from the list.

It's not just the quantity, it's the quality....UGA's RBs overall are better than any team in the SEC has produced, past - Hershel Walker, present - Nick Chubb and future - Branson Robinson. You know it and everyone knows it.

nice post and similar to what I just posted.. I think Texas would have around 488 points using this definition with 5 guys in the top 60.
Do you know Miami, OU and USC’s total by chance?

When they join the SEC, UT and Oklahoma may be 1 and 2 as far as RBU among SEC teams. To clarify, I am of the opinion that producing productive RBs at the next level is the meaning of RBU. Texas RBs have had a ton of success.

I was only pulling SEC names, but saw a ton of guys from those schools as well as Ohio State, Penn State, and Nebraska.
If the Mississippi juco system could be counted as 1 school, they would be pretty high on the list.
