OK that makes sense so they're in the talk...

Seems like AL, AU, GA, LSU, and ARKY are the SEC RB schools.

Very surprised at the people saying UF... never thought about them having good backs.

Agreed about all schools referenced. Gata has had a good back or two from time to time. Emmitt Smith and Fred Taylor were great. But Gata hasn't had good to great backs year after year like the other schools.

Now, maybe Gata has had some great backs for their system. Eric Rhett, Percy Harvin, Jeff Demps, etc., come to mind.

I looked it up. Gata has had eleven 1,000 yard backs since 1973.

Yea always thought of them as more of a "QB"U...

Gata has three Heisman winning QBs in three completely different generations of football, all of whom were completely different styles of players.

Gata is QBU.

It's not just the quantity, it's the quality....UGA's RBs overall are better than any team in the SEC has produced, past - Hershel Walker, present - Nick Chubb and future - Branson Robinson. You know it and everyone knows it.

If you want to look at it this way, Bama can stand right up to that claim.

Past - Alexander, Henry
Present - Henry
Future - who knows

Go poll 100 people in Walmart and see who they say is the best 5 RBs ever....of course, make sure it's a Walmart anywhere in the country besides the one in middle of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. That's uh, assuming there IS a Walmart in Tuscaloosa.

Now they just call it defending National Champion.About to be 3 in a row defending National Champion.

Me too, but it was sure fun watching Chubb, Gurley, Swift, Michel, and Knowshon Moreno. Georgia has been stacked at RB in recent years.

What year did Walker get in the HOF? Must have missed it. Walker is 45th all time in NFL rushing behind Derrick Henry and Shaun Alexander and about to be passed by Mark Ingram

RBU...U, as in University...as in college. A school is considered Something U because of what players do in school, right? Alexander and Ingram couldn't hold Hershel Walker's jock strap on the college level and I swear to you, I have a 4 year old Bama fan little girl in my church that admitted to me that HW was the "best running back ever". If a 4 year old knows that and you don't, what does that say about your football IQ?

You can call Bama RBU if you want to do so. It won't bother us at all.

We could but then that would be a lie. USC is the real RBU.

Tbf Walker would be a HOFer if he didn’t spend his prime years in the USFL

I’m pretty sure the media gave UGA the RBU title years ago. I’ve been hearing Georgia being called that for as long as I can remember.

USC might be better than Bama in that area, but not UGA. Truthfully, Bama has to make a pretty strong argument to top Auburn or LSU for the 2nd, even the 3rd place spot behind UGA.

Not sure why you think NFL production is the measure of what University has the best players at a position. Terrell Davis was a great NFL back, but he doesn't really contribute to UGA's RB success because he wasn't that productive at UGA.

UGA is in the conversation for RBU because of what their backs did while at UGA. Herschel Walker, Frank Sinkwich, Charlie Trippi, Nick Chubb, Todd Gurley, Sony Michel, Knowshown Moreno, Robert Edwards, Musa Smith, Garrison Hearst, Rodney Hampton, Lars Tate, Thomas Brown, Tim Worley, Theron Sapp, Garrison Hearst, Verron Haynes, Olandis Gary, D'Andre Swift... UGA has a lot of backs who were great wearing the red and black.

How many super bowls in this list? Not trolling you, I just don't want to look it up and maybe you have a guesstimate.

From those guys... I'm pretty sure Hampton was on the Parcells Giants team that won a SB. Mack Strong may have been on the Seahawks team that won one.

Other than the PB guys, Patrick Pass was on a couple of those patriot teams who won superbowls, Verron Haynes may have been on a Pittsburgh superbowl team, Danny Ware on the Eli Manning Giants SB wins, Sony Michel with the patriots.

Hines Ward played some RB at UGA (as well as QB and WR). He's been on a Superbowl winning team or two.
