quote:not the stats you posted. they don't compare bama's o to lsu's d and they don't take into account that bama has faced some putrid defenses
it's a good indication that UA's offense is much more prolific
quote:yep. lsu is right with bama in sos and strength of record. i don't think the separation is nearly as much as those gaudy o stats superficially suggest
this far into the season, they can be a good indicator
in conference games, bama is #1 o in the sec yards per game. lsu is #3. take that for what it's worth

Bama is unstoppable, the best team of all time. Bama can't lose.

Alabama has played the following defenses:
UL (93)
Arkansas State (72)
Ole Miss (121)
Texas A&M (21)
ULL (115)
Arkansas (101)
Missouri (96)
Arkansas State is the second best defense Bama has faced all year . Bama's opponent's average total defense ranking is 88.
LSU has played the following defenses:
Miami (1)
La Tech (36)
SE La (NA)
Auburn (29)
Ole Miss (121)
Florida (21)
UGA (13)
That's an average opponent defense of 36.
Now do their ranks removing alabama and lsu from the stats

Defense & offense rankings:
Bama -- defense = 16, offense = 1
ATM -- defense = 21, offense = 16
LSU -- defense = 33, offense = 69
Currently ranked opponents:
Bama -- #17 ATM
ATM -- #1 UA, #3 CU, #14 UK
LSU -- #8 UGA, #11 UF
Bama scored 45 in 3 quarters on ATM and then put in their backups and took the air out of the ball in the 4th quarter. Arguably, Bama's starters could've added a couple more Q4 scoring drives.

Alabama’s offense is better than LSU’s. That’s not debatable. A couple things to consider, however..
LSU is offense is improving, so probably better than the averages. They’ve also played some stout defenses. Au and Miami aren’t great teams, but both have legit defenses. As do UGA and Florida.
I don’t think they beat Alabama, but I do expect the offense to score more than they have in while. Probably something like 35-24 Bama. I don’t think anyone can cover all of those receivers UA puts on the field. LSU’s Battle may give up all the passing TDs. He’s not good, but apparently none of the 4/5 star backups can do it better.

With your schedule it should be!

UA #1 total offense
Not trash talking here, and I know Alabama is really good, but in all fairness the ONLY real opposition Bama has faced so far is TAMU. They were the only team with a halfway decent defense. The rest of the teams you've faced, your offense was basically playing against air.

Tell me why you think "Tiger Stadium at night" is a competitive advantage against Alabama.
Our fricking shitty 5 loss 2014 team took you to overtime. It’s not an advantage that translate to wins all the time, but you’re being dense if you don’t think it’s an advantage.

Pretty sure he's talking about those awesome Louisville, Arky St, ULL, Arky and OM teams.

S&P+ takes strength of opposition into account. Alabama at #2 offensively is leagues better than LSU at #43. The two teams are basically even defensively at #17 and #13 respectively.
LSU's largest struggles have come on obvious passing downs where they're bottom 30 in the nation. It's absolutely imperative that they stay out of those situations to have a chance to keep the game close. Having said that Alabama's defense has been pretty shite at anything other than obvious passing downs so maybe LSU has a chance after all.

Death Valley at night.
Most overrated cliché in all of sports
For Bama, no doubt.
However, in Bama's greatest dynasty run ever, they have outscored LSU in regulation by just 11 points combined in Tiger Stadium in Saban's five games there against LSU. LSU won one, took two into OT, lost one in the final minute and were tied 0-0 in the 4th in the last one . Under Saban, Bama has blown out every other SEC team in their house except LSU (and South Carolina, but they've only played them once at South Carolina since Saban has been there).
