I believe it turns into a SEC West type network and the current SEC network turns into a SEC East type network.

I thought this at first but after really thinking about it, doesn't make much sense to split it.

SECN is more than enough to cover all the teams news-wise. Gameday is obviously different but we already have the SEC alternate channel/SEC+ for that.

What I really don't want to happen is our games start getting pushed to ESPN+, but I think it's only a matter of time before we see most of the non-primetime games moved to at least some form of subscription based viewing.

Not sure I'm happy about Texas coming in. I think they're shady. But they won't have the power they did in the Big 12. Idk I'd rather bring OSO with OU.

Kinda where im at.

On the other hand watching a potential TAMU/UT battle in Atlanta would be a sight to behold.

I agree with the AGs that Texas isn't to be trusted. However even ive come around on some of the potential upsides. Obviously this is all done for football. But every team in the league could win the conference in baseball and softball. The SEC is always criminally underrated in basketball and adding those t do increases that. Texas is in AAU school and they academic standing of the league improves with them included.

Pros and Cons to any move.

That is fricked up.

Sankey needs to be fired.

Texas isn't even in the conference yet and is already getting special attention.

mean I don't disagree, but schools in the Big Ten and Pac 12 that recruit nationally already come into Texas and take top talent.

If I were aTm I would rather be able to face them head to head on the football field and in recruiting under the same conference than risk being relegated to being the "other" team in a state culturally dominated by a now elite conference that you are not in.

Being the only SEC Texas team has its advantages when the other Texas schools play in a shite conference, but it may not be so advantageous if the State of Texas becomes primarily a Big Ten dominated state and the Big Ten is now just as good or better than the SEC. You might find yourselves feeling like a Georgia Tech where no one cares about you in Texas except for yourselves.

Tbis is just the beginning. Get used to it. SEC will operate on backroom deals, and shady politics from now on. Everyone will get screwed over eventually. Resentment will build in various camps over the years and the SEC will suffer the consequences.

Seen this movie twice before. Always goes the same way.

This was bound to happen. A&M has been living in lala land since they joined spouting off about being the premier school in Texas and a sleeping giant etc etc. That's just not reality and even if it started to become reality they were going to be slapped down to prevent it.

It really does suck for aggie fans. I have a great deal of sympathy for you guys but the truth is the SEC is no different from where we both came from. It's got the same power player politics that we dealt with in the SWC. At least here we get an equal share of the money. Welcome to the party.

You really believe that when A&M and Missouri joined the conference 8 years ago, there wasn't a similar process? And lets not even consider that all of this sky is falling/The SEC is ruined shite is from a single twitter post quoting an unnamed source.

Prominent Big 12 source tells the American-Statesman the Texas-OU move to the SEC is almost done. "They've been working on this for a minimum of 6 months, and the A&M leadership was left out of discussions and wasn't told about it." Move could become official in a week.

Maybe SEC leadership figured out what a bunch of sniveling, whiny, weirdos A&M actually are and didn't want them killing a very lucrative deal...

They have had little brother syndrome for over 100 years...

The LHN is only worth about $15 million per year through 2031. That's not anything divided among 16 members and the conference office. People who think the LHN provides any money to the SEC plan don't seem to realize this.

think it was because of the State of Texas in general though not just Aggie. Oklahoma has no worries. There's not really anything that can be done to stop us from leaving

Is there no concern of OK State? I thought there might be some pushback, at least.

That's a huge issue. It's all fun and games right now because it's A&M and we know how some of y'all feel about them.

But what happens when that shite gets done to a charter member? Replace Texas with someone like Alabama (just an example) having backdoor meetings for scheduling, breaking up the equal share clause for bowl money, etc. and y'all would absolutely lose your fricking minds.

I'm sorry. I don't like it. What has worked in the power share, even with the expansion teams, is not doing a bunch of shady backdoor bullshite. This smells like a fricking rot coming from the inside.
