Is there no concern of OK State? I thought there might be some pushback, at least.

Yeah, pretty sure those guys share a BOR? Like 50% OU guys and 50% OSU guys on the singular BOR. I feel like that would be tough.

It is a business. If they don't come to the SEC you won't have to look any further east than the ACC. Either way, Texas and Oklahoma are gone.

aTm is starting to look like how Nebraska looked after threatening the Big Ten over the non conference game ban last year. Only start a public fight you know you will win, especially if you are the new team in the conference.

The minute aTm realized this was happening and they did not have the votes to beat it, they should have pounded their chests and told Texas to bring it on.

The optics of this could have been a weak Texas following aTm. Now it looks more like a weak aTm running from a stronger Texas.

I'm not afraid for A&M. It's time to resume the rivalry. And we're going to beat them like rented mules on the gridiron.

I'm afraid for the SEC. We like it here. I don't want it to end up a dysfunctional resentful mess like the Big 12 and SWC. So far everything I see points to the same roadmap they followed. Disappointing.

All of the whining about “backroom deals“ seems a bit ironic to me. When A&M came into the conference, they immediately used power and “backroom deals” to displace Arkansas from our traditional Thanksgiving Friday game with LSU. And then we were forced to play Missouri with some type of made up award that nobody cares about.

That really pissed me off because at that time A&M had never consistently beaten Arkansas and was clearly our little brother in pretty much every sport. But money talks, and we got screwed. It was at that point that I had to acknowledge that Ark is a stepchild in the SEC just like we were in the SWC. But I guess that’s the way it is and we can do nothing but move on.

The tables are now turned, Tx and OU have more power than A&M, and now you Ags are on the receiving end of the screwing.

It isn’t fun, is it?

Tend to agree. Best case we could try to make a few beneficial requests as a negotiating ploy, like requesting to not be in their division.

As I remember it, LSU pushed for the Thanksgiving matchup with A&M and A&M reciprocated. SEC made the move due to reciprocal interest between the two.

No that's a story that's left over from the last time we tried to expand that ppl tell wrong.

We were considering going to Pac12 without little brother. OU's President said he'd never allow it and threatened legislation to stop it from happening. (He was the former governor and probably had the connections to pull it off)

So we dropped it. He's retired now and the legislation never happened. The new President doesnt care about Oklahoma State so its smooth sailing this time.

All they can do is try to cost us money I guess but I dont know if yall realize how rich OU is in its own right yet. We may not have Texas money (nobody does) but we do have Alabama money.

Krampus, you seem like a good person and you may be correct about LSU and A&M wanted to play on Thanksgiving. But it is very clear that Arkansas did not want this change to occur, and it was done without our consent.

Hopefully you see my point : it is no fun to find out your true place in the pecking order.

Once this calms down, I truly look forward to watching Texas and A&M renew their Thanksgiving game. It was a tradition of my family to watch that game . The sports world is better when that rivalry game is played. And when that happens, I suspect we will get our Friday came back with LSU.

Additionally, I am thrilled to death with the opportunity to pay Tx every year. As an old guy, I have been born and bred to hate the Longhorns

I cant wait to to start playing them again. If A&M takes care of business and wins on the field the rest is noise.

So this has been going on since January huh?

I guess it makes a ton of sense now why all of a sudden the Urban Meyer camp about faced to going all in with Jacksonville.

As soon as it got to the past the feeler stage and they started talking contracts, they had to tell him that, oh by the way...

We are looking to move to the SEC again.

Arent you looking forward to having fun at the media days...

Whats the matter, you look a little pale.. Why are you grasping your temples and rubbing your chest?

So from which team in the B12 are y’all running?

We were invited; y’all asked for the invite.

no doubt you will eventually see success but Texas is so thin in the trenches I just dont see beyond 8 win seasons for the first couple years unless you get lucky with a majority of returning starters. On the other side who knows how the conference will be split so the ringer of the west actually might be a little easier to navigate who knows.

With all due respect, anyone who thinks that is a moron. Everyone who has worked closely with the horns knows how much they tear down anything that they feel isn't working for them. And the thing with them is, a level field looks unlevel to them. Look at the media in the state already. A&M doesn't want anything to do with those assholes because we are tired of dealing with those assholes. It has nothing to do with fear, and A&M is certainly not weak. The program has better facilities, better players, better coaches, a better fanbase, better atmosphere, and as the city of Austin continues to destroy itself through liberal policies, it looks like a better city for college students to live. Nearly identical revenue year over year (although texas spends significantly more on coaches and things- a big reason they couldn't afford to rebuild their basketball arena).
It's running away from them like leaving a dishonest cheating spouse is running away from a marriage. Shouldn't be a shocker that we are much happier without them around to constantly start shite for no reason and therefore don't want them following us just because they are sinking further and further into football irrelevance.

My guess would be TCU. The sips are 2-7 against them since we left.

Maybe Oklahoma State. They're 4-5 since we left, but 2-4 recently.

Haven't done so hot against West Virginia. Going 5-5.

And of course Oklahoma. But their traveling with them despite going 4-6 since we left and having a loss to OU every year going back to 2016. I guess they realize that considerably helps their chances of acceptance anywhere.

Prominent Big 12 source tells the American-Statesman the Texas-OU move to the SEC is almost done. "They've been working on this for a minimum of 6 months, and the A&M leadership was left out of discussions and wasn't told about it." Move could become official in a week

I don’t like aTm at all, but damn. If this is true, they have good reason to be pissed off.
