Maybe ask this question after the portal window closes on Jan 16th.

I haven't looked at their schedule next year, who are their away games?

There may not be another Saban. And even if there is, he won’t have the same type of success in the current format - NIL, unlimited transfer portal, expanded playoff.
The key appears to be having above average line play on both sides of the ball and a star transfer QB. Building a Death Star is now pretty much impossible.

I wouldn’t.

I AM THE THREAD NECROMANCER

Uh...why are you all of the sudden pulling up all of these 4 month old Bama threads?

8-4. Everyone paying players now.

Feeling generous, so 7-5.

Looking at their schedule, 9-3 is the ceiling

Prob 9-3 but would have to look at the schedule.
Would be nice to see it in the OP

9-3 or 10-2. How good A&M is will probably decide that. Tough 3 game stretch Georgia, the stinking Vols and A&M.
Georgia and one more loss somewhere would be what i expect.

Lots of close wins… LSU fans having to cancel a lot of other team merch they keep buying at halftime.

They will lose 2 of these home games: FSU, Georgia, Auburn, A&M.
They will lose 1 of these away games:
LSU, Vandy, Tennessee.
I think the most reasonable betting number is 8.5 wins.

With a 12 team playoff, 10-2 in the SEC means you're not sweating on whether you make the cfp. 9-3 and you're sweating.
It will be important for Bama to take care of business against FSU and South Carolina early in the season. Laying an egg last season against FSU put them behind the 8 ball all season...they responded, but I'd rather save those potential Ls for Georgia or somebody. Prefer to not have 2 losses going into Baton Rouge...we've owned the place for years, but if they're having a good season it'll be a tough game.

getting badly blown out in the CFP got him the Bama job, i dont see where getting beat worse by a far less talented team is a positive trend

This is false on every account.
9-3 and missing the playoffs is better than 10-2 and making the SEC Championship and the CFP?
