I don’t particularly like what I saw but he was playing stupid games and got his stupid prize. Still felt a bit over the top but that is just me armchair quaterbacking. At that point weaving around like he did was resisting and they kinda have to assume further resistance given what they know.

That's not how a taser is supposed to be used. Any two cops that can't put the cuffs on a one guy who is on the ground shouldn't be employed. It's sheer incompetence. A taser is not the correct tool for the job when your suspect is already on the ground and never should be. Elbow grease is.
You want to tase a guy who doesn't want to get on the ground? Fine. You want to tase a guy who is running away? Fine. As a matter of fact, I would have had no issue if he got tased while he was on the bike. But taser him when he is already on the floor and isn't going anywhere? You're fricking stupid. The guy is allegedly a veteran suffering from mental illness.

You're the dumb dipshit who keeps defending incompetence. There is a time and place for a taser. Had they tased him while he was still on the bike, I'd have no issue with it. But he was on the ground going nowhere. There was no reason to use the taser unless the cops thought he had a weapon or he was striking them (there has been no evidence of either happening). All this was was two incompetent beta cops on a power trip.
Any two cops worth a damn would have grabbed the hands and cuffed him without further escalating the situation. End of discussion.

They beat the shait out of the perp until he complied or they muscled his arms behind him by brute force very often resulting in musculoskeletal injuries to the perp.
I'm completely fine with going back to those methods. Stupid should hurt a lot more than the few seconds that a taser hurts, but people are soft these days and prefer less damaging methods.

Unless a USARNG or USAR element, I'd guess your closest calls for Army MPs were Ft Hood, Ft Sam or, maybe, Ft Polk from College Station.
Also, seems weird presenting a non-federal LEO your military ID instead of a driver's license (that could have also have verified your age/identity). In areas with high concentration of military members (or a large corps of college cadets), it is almost a certain way to get a tkt.
That said, his ability to confiscate what constitutes federal property was likely his biggest reservation.
Cops can be absolute power tripping assholes, but they also deal with assholes ALL the time. That can make them treat everyone like an a-hole first. There is only one a-hole in the video presented, and his arse got tazed
