If I recall correctly, in many part of the US bicyclist are legally able to treat a red light as a stop sign and move on if it's clear. Considering it's a college town, dude could have been from one of those area?

There is a time and place for a taser. Had they tased him while he was still on the bike, I'd have no issue with it. But he was on the ground going nowhere.

Mehh. Tase first, ask questions later is my motto. They ought to make a shotgun taser that you can more easily tag a dude in motion.

The only places I've seen that allow it in cases where the light is triggered by sensors that the bike won't trip. Most of the time the law requires the rider to stop and wait for the light to change before proceeding.

Let's say for fun though, that he thought that was the case. It doesn't change the fact that he refused to pull over after the original officer initiated a traffic stop and then fought with them.

If he pulls over when they lit him up, the WORST thing he gets is a red light ticket which he can then contest. His actions alone are what turned this into an arrest.

These people complaining also want people arrested for not wearing a mask. They were molly-coddled snots who never got a spanking in their life. They need to realize their parents fricked them up, but they never will. You can't un-spoil something.

So they just randomly stopped you and wanted your ID or was there more to the story.

Already stated.

At a bar, showing my ID to get a drink and a plainclothes cop, trying to score an arrest for finding someone using a fake ID picked the wrong target.
