Wisconsin got hosed this year for having to play in this game.
All the while Alabama benefited from staying home.

That's a fact and its total BS.

It used to be lose early if your gonna lose.
Alabama loses its last game of regular season and still gets in.

So, you honestly believe that Wisconsin is one of the four best teams in the country?

Wrong, jeaLSUfan

Wisconsin only had one quality win -- vs barely-ranked Northwestern. The entire top 10 would've very likely gone undeafeated against Wisconsin's schedule. Wisconsin needed a win over OSU to have a resume worthy of considering them one of the four best teams.

That's not the point and you know it.

But I'll play along.
If I said Ohio state was one of best you prob wouldn't put up much argument.
Wisc lost by 6 points to them. Last game of the year. Not week 3.

Auburn didn't make playoff at all and they beat the frick out of Alabama and Uganda, late in the season.

This is literally never ending.
Lots of good teams, that can beat anyone or lose to anyone any given Saturday.
You know it to be true.

Bragging rights within the conference. The same thing it's been for the majority of college football history.

Conferences are from a time when everyone took trains and teams played all their local neighbors. Maybe helps with some consistency for scheduling.

That doesn’t really hold water anymore. Makes you wonder if conferences are even necessary in the 21st century.

They would still have to play their way j to the playoffs by beating another conference team. Generally there is at least 1 division team in a conference that’s pretty good.

It would make co defense games 10000x more exciting

It would make divisional games more exciting in weak divisions as well.

It’s pretty damned simple:

8-team playoff
Auto bids for P5 champions (even 7-5 wisky)
3 wildcards

Can be no uproar if everyone knows upfront that conference champions go. It’s each conference’s job to keep bad teams from being called champion.

Yeah. I thought Bama was rewarded for being the 4th best team.

Undefeated, Bama was ahead of wisky all season because they l looked better (wisky had a crap schedule). With 1 loss, why is it a surprise that Bama was deemed better again?
