If we had a 8 team playoff then all 5 major conference champions should get in . Maybe there would need to be a rule keeping other teams in the conference from making the playoffs if the conference champ has 4 losses or more .

What if a 7-5 and an 8-4 team replaced USC and Wisconsin? Wouldn't want to watch those blowouts.

Yes conference champs are about 66% to 75% of games played,all games matter

That's literally what they do now with four teams. That's is basically what I said in the original post. I don't want it to change to become a scenario where the conference champs automatically get a bid like in the NCAA basketball tournament.
