All they have to do is get past the best team in the country, then hope that Alabama AND LSU drop another conference game each.

If OM and LSU win out... I know it's not likely to happen. Wouldn't OM win the tie breaker between the two?

Which is why I said they have to get past the best team in the country. Lose to UGA and you need Bama to drop 2 more games and LSU to drop at least 1 more. This is also assuming y’all get past Auburn and State on the road.

Bama is in the drivers seat.

Ole Miss has 5 more Conference games, and three of them are on the road. Y’all need to pump the brakes a little bit.

Alabama would have to lose another game besides LSU. If they lose just to LSU it’s a three way tie (if lsu wins out). If lsu doesn’t win out then Bama goes over OM. Record of SEC East opponents will be the tie breaker if three way tie I believe

What happens in a 3 way tie scenario? Do they just flip a coin to decide who goes to Atlanta?

Sorry somehow missed this while reading your post. That would make sense.

its pretty obvious that its going to end up being Mizzou vs Ole Miss in ATL. Winner goes to CFP

Team with the highest ranking goes, which would probably be ole miss in this scenario if they win out. If ole miss drops Georgia, their hopes are basically over. I’d say bama definitely has the edge. We really needed arky to beat them

Wasn’t there a thread calling out LSU fans for believing they could win out! OM defense is just as shitty as LSUs. You can’t have it both ways

No that's not a tiebreaker. It's the winning % of East opponents between the 3 teams. So you would look at UGA/Vandy for Ole Miss, Mizzou/Florida for LSU, and Kentucky/Tennessee for Bama. Whichever pair of teams has the highest winning %, the team that played them goes.

If it's a 2 way tie for first on that tiebreaker then it's back to head to head between those 2 teams.

If all 3 pairs somehow have the same winning %, then they flip a coin for all 3 teams and whichever team has the unique result goes to Atlanta (So if 2 teams flips heads and 1 team flips tails, the tails goes)

I don’t think it’ll happen but it would be very Ole Miss like to finally make it in the last year of division play. Of course the most WAOM possibility is for us to win out, which includes beating UGA on the road, and still miss out on Atlanta because Bama also wins out. I’d actually bet on the latter before I would the former.
