Not to mention most of the members of Kansas now live in Georgia.

There are more. A lot more. From all eras of music. But Georgia was just a blip on the scene and haven't produced anything since then.

Glad you did man. Check out Junior Kimbrough, North Mississippi Allstars, Kenny Brown, Robert Belfour and T Model Ford also if you like. All Hill Country Blues artists.

Will do. I am listening to a little Robert Belfour right now. So far...so good! I have just gotten started listening to some of the newer Blues type stuff, so getting these other guys is opening up possibilities for me.
Kenny Brown looks to be more of old style country?
I'll give them a listen, though. Thanks for the heads up!

I know most on this site will act like it's shite or not worthy of being called music, but Atlanta is one of the hip-hop/rap centers of the country. To say Atlanta hasn't been prominent on the music scene since the 80's is a bad take.

Outkast (Andre 3000)
Ying Yang Twins
T.I.
Ludacris
Killer Mike
Gucci Mane*
Future
Migos
Wake Flocka Flame
2 Chainz
21 Savage

Whether or not you find artistic merit in the genre, these rappers are typically seen as pretty influential and important within the genre. They also all happen to be from Atlanta

*Gucci Mane was born in Alabama, but was raised in Atlanta

Great point.

I was going to post about this as well. The hip-hop scene has been more influential and frankly more relevant these days anyway, and Atlanta rap is one of the largest contributors. Georgia crushes this argument especially if you add back in the other genres they were talking about.

It's cool you like Mississippi! As you mentioned, it has a rich history and is a beautiful state! For me, though, I'd rather live virtually anywhere else in America. But it's cool that you like it!
I'd rather live in some places in Louisiana (Northshore) and Alabama (Daphne-Fairhope-Orange Beach) than anywhere in Mississippi. (No where)

There are some really nice areas in the Burbs surrounding the Atlanta 285 circle. (Rush hour traffic is a killer though. MARTA is a life saver)

Good thing I said your opinion of their merit doesn't matter. They're still massively influential in the genre, and in mainstream music as well.

Your freak of a doctor put a chimpanzee heart into a dying patient who lived for 60 minutes after. The first successful heart transplant was done in South Africa.

And the first kidney transplant was in Boston.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to get into Buffett. Yeah, I know. Heresy.

Easily Southaven and Olive Branch. Well anywhere east of highway 55 in Desoto County along with Hernando. As rich as Ole Miss fans try to make residents of Oxford out to be.. there is still a trailer park in the center of town at the highway 6 and 7 intersection and a Cheapo Depot just west of town. Don’t forget to salute the faded rebel flag in the front yard of the trailer on the way in to oxford from the east.

And as much as you folks try... no.... Oxford is not better than Tupelo either.

Your literature sucks.

Elvis was a drug addled child abuser.

Georgia had Ray Charles, Otis Redding and Johnny Mercer in the old days and The Allman Brothers Band and R.E.M. later.
