re: Best SEC college bars ever...

It makes me fricking sad that Two Keys closed for good. Haven't been in Lexington for years, but in school there that was my spot.
Hope Hugh arse Burgers, with those sweet potato fries and marshmallow cream sauce and Sav's are still open.

re: Parade should be down Cobb Parkway. Hwy 41

I'd be down for 41. That would be convenient as frick for me since I live in Kennesaw. I'll be there regardless though.

Love Rosario at leadoff. I'll be getting drunk in the bar and cheering them on.

re: What's the population of the metro area you live in?
Posted by Wildcat In Germany on 10/26/21 at 9:31 am
I live in Cobb County in metro Atlanta. The population is a little over 6 million. I can't imagine living in a tiny place with none of the amenities that we have in more populous areas.

Many of us Kentucky grads live out of state. There are over 5,000 of us in metro Atlanta. Many of us would have season tickets if we still lived there.
I still go to games in Athens and Auburn when we play there.

re: Worst SEC town?
Posted by Wildcat In Germany on 10/5/21 at 9:22 am
Lexington is nice, but as a Kentucky grad, it's not a college town. It's the 57th largest city in the country with almost 300,000 people.

I'm having issues with Facebook, but not T Mobile, here in Atlanta.

Are we talking .22’s with CB’s or hi powered rifles? Very curious how you keep the peace with so many neighbors. Wife and I have discussed a potential move from where we currently live in Pinellas county FL (what I call southern NY) to an area in search of a place like you originally described. Just didn’t expect to hear your living situation based on the fact there’s about 6 million people in ATL area.
It's mostly a middle to upper middle class suburban town, just north of Atlanta, where everyone gets along. You can't even walk in to a bar here without at least a handful of people carrying even if there is a sign on the door saying "No weapons."
I've never seen anyone carrying rifles, but most people conceal carry. I know plenty that do.
Some of us shoot guns off of a buddy's carport in broad daylight half a mile from downtown Kennesaw. Cops have never been called.

You shoot guns in your back yard in a suburb of Atlanta?
Yes. Our city has a "law," albeit symbolic, that every head of household is required to have a gun.

When I run into some city or suburban dwelling asswipe bragging about where they live I always ask them if they can legally go in their back yard and take a piss, shoot a gun, and build a bonfire. Shuts them up pretty quick
Meh. I live in suburban Atlanta, Kennesaw, Cobb County. We build fires, shoot guns and all of my guy friends pee outside. There is a ton of wildlife and a comingling population of city and country, all political beliefs, all races, all getting along. Many of them hunt. We float the Hooch, go boating, paddleboarding and kayaking on the lakes, camp, hike in the mountains.
Suburban life here is the best of both worlds. We live below Kennesaw Mountain, near Red Top Mountain and can be in Atlanta in 20 minutes.
re: Anyone on here play pool?
Posted by Wildcat In Germany on 9/16/21 at 8:43 am
Yes, probably 6 nights a week. Played a little ACS and a house league. I know Johnny Archer, a former world champion. He pops into the pool hall that my friends and I play in occasionally.

OK, I'm a Democrat but this is taking it too fricking far. I would refuse, even if it meant going to jail. frick this.
re: Should they require people to take driving tests every few years?

The worst thing here in metro Atlanta is people having no idea how to navigate a roundabout.

Posted by Wildcat In Germany on 9/4/21 at 9:11 am
Maybe. It is what is is though. His mom is from there. She's 72 and a three time cancer survivor so we're taking her to see relatives there while she can still go so we all have to get it.

We weren't going to get it, but we're traveling to Puerto Rico in November and you have to submit proof that you've had it as well as showing proof to go in restaurants and bars.
