As much as you'd like to, you can't blame the Aggies for being ranked pre-season #6. I think other people are responsible for that. The Aggies will be ranked appropriately for the 2023 season.

Don't try to deflect. Looch is the one reporting this to be a rejection, and we all know he's a massive sunshine pumper.
What I am saying is not every name that pops up is a “rejection”.
Does that mean Riley, Jimbo and Aranda all rejected LSU? All of their names popped up in a much more serious manner than any of these names for OC at A&M. I wouldn’t say any of those guys rejected LSU, they just got lucrative offers to stay put and Riley got a once in a lifetime deal to live like a movie star in the Hollywood hills. It happens.

Wrong.

I mean we have the benefit of hindsight.
When compared to Kelly, I doubt Riley was ever a serious candidate. Kelly is the better fit for what LSU needed.
Aranda was never even contacted based on multiple reports, doesn't fit the persona of a Woodward hire anyway, same with Napier.
I'm sure Woodward did contact Jimbo to gauge interest but Jimbo simply had nothing to gain by moving to LSU, I doubt that was ever a serious option.
At worst, Kelly was the second option.
We will have the same benefit with Jimbo's hire, if he actually makes a good hire, then we can say all of this was BS (you wouldn't consider someone like Petrino if you can hire Garrett Riley).
If it's a nobody like the USC analyst, then there's likely some truth to the rumors that multiple candidates turned A&M down.

who is currently the head coach at Missouri State and hasn't been an OC since 2002.
Well he should be really familiar with Jimbo’s offense if his last OC experience was in 2002

Pressure is a privilege.
Does A&M get credit for the #1 recruiting class in 2022? Or are other people responsible for that too?

I have no inside knowledge of the LSU coaching search. Have never claimed to.

I think Garrett Riley was our #1 candidate and it didn’t work out.

Maybe, but I would rather take a chance on a nobody that a “somebody” like a Bobby Petrino. That would be a disaster.

I'm impressed that all these Aggies have so much knowledge and access to the inner workings of LSU's athletics department.

Due to the aggies budget, I'm thinking they should make a call and bring in this guy....... Cam Cameron.
The SEC defenses wouldn't be able to handle it.

I’d call the OC from the Detroit Lions.
Ben Johnson has come outta nowhere and has proven himself to be dynamic…

And you think he would leave a sitting oc job in the nfl to go "coach" under jimblow?

This is starting to feel like Ed O trying to find assistants in 2020/21. I'm afraid aggy may be trending dangerously close towards either firing him for an even worse has-been or giving him another extension.
