There is a lot more to these hires that just “there’s the best guy, go money whip him.”

That's not what the Aggy fans have said all along. This is literally your strategy for coaching hires and recruits.

Most of the “fans” in this board have no clue what they’re talking about, including most from your fanbase.

18 year old Recruits can easily be money whipped. They are mainly thinking about 3 things: Money, playing time, and a path to the NFL (more money).

Grown coaches with years of experience in the game, families, and their own personal career aspirations are a different story. Way more variables in that equation than money.

I told you guys no good OC will come to A&M they will get some mid level guy but not a top notch guy . The writing is on the wall . It’s one maybe two more year job and Gumbo is gone with a big payout !

I really thought we were going to hire Phil Montgomery, who would be a good hire for us, but no one in the SEC knows him. Now we are interviewing Petrino, who we know little about, but the entire SEC knows him inside out.

I wouldn't worry about that. The game has changes a lot since Petrino was last in the SEC. Plus, most (all except Saban?) of the coaches have moved on.

Frankly this hire is do or die for Jimbo so I support whoever he picks.

I would support Petrino if he is the one.

You could easily beat what Petrino is getting payed now I’d imagine. But would his ego allow him to play second fiddle? I’d tend to think not….

Let’s assume all of the talk about who gets to call plays gets discussed during the interview. Either it goes well, and the two parties agree, or it doesn’t, and the interview doesn’t go well.

He may not get the job after being interviewed. Or they may hit it off. Who knows!

No sense in assuming that it isn’t going to be addressed.

The good news is that Bobby could even take a long thanksgiving break.

We all saw that Jimbo doesn’t need him to whip LSU’s defense…

Petrino to aTm? ROFLOL

Not until Jimboat sets sail. Even then, it would be hard to believe he would lower his standards that low. I could see him going to Vanderbilt before aTm.

Does it really matter who Texas A&M has at OC? Jimbo pretty much owns LSU. 4-1

One game does not a season make unless you are Appalachian State or aTm

Are you trying to give Kelly a nervous breakdown?

Kelly isn't worried about Jimbo.

He's focused on adding more depth to the team so they don't wear out at the tail end of the season.
