Under the Spanish Moss

Posted by GeauxLSUGeaux on 5/8/26 at 5:37 pm
One of my old high school classmates wrote this historical fiction and I just thought I’d share. It sounded intriguing so I started reading it and it’s pretty good so far.

quote:

In early 19th-century Louisiana, compassion can be a dangerous thing.

When Charles LeBlanc, a first-generation Acadian settler, discovers a dying runaway slave under an oak tree, he’s left with an impossible choice: walk away—or save her newborn child and carry it toward freedom.

His decision sets off a relentless pursuit by a sadistic overseer determined to reclaim the stolen property. As danger closes in around him, Charles is forced to confront the cost of mercy in a world built on cruelty.

Under the Spanish Moss is a harrowing tale of sacrifice, moral courage, and fragile hope that survives even in the darkest soil.

Don’t belong on this list

lol what the frick are you smoking?

LSU beat 3 BCS bowl winners in the regular season (Oregon, WVU, and Alabama) and 7 ranked teams on their way to an undefeated regular season and SEC championship. 3 of the teams were ranked in the top 3 (Oregon, Alabama, and Arkansas). You can’t even name 3 teams with a better season that didn’t win it all, much less an entire list. Penn State only played 4 ranked teams in 1994, with only one ranked in the top ten. Get the frick out of here with that bullshite.

That’s somebody who actually cares about and loves the IP. These are the people I want writing these adaptations.

New Iberia was a Spanish settlement, hence the name “New Iberia”.

She could have just did this.

The neighbor could have gotten it a lot worse being as though he was on the ground. Alan is obviously on a bunch of PEDs so this isn’t surprising. What is surprising is that he would do that in front of his kids. So trashy.

And if this is true, the intelligence community that is working against Trump, the same IC you worked for, would either know about this and ignore it at best or at worst, complicit in it and working with them.

so would anyone who isn't a bootlicker. sadly this place is full of bootlickers.

There are bootlickers and then there are dumbasses who excuse this behavior. She obviously would have just thrown out the second citation and it would have come to the same conclusion, because people like this think they don’t have to deal with consequences because of dumbasses like you making excuses for them.
Knowing that renown feminist Gloria Steinem was a CIA asset way back in the 1950’s, you could argue that the CIA has been working on this agenda for decades.

That is definitely what I would do if I was really rich enough to not work. Just play golf all day, and other stuff for fun

Good thing he will either go against an unpopular Gavin Newsome or a communist.

Darren Aronofski is an acquired taste, I must admit. His movies require a lot of buildup and I can see how some people would see his artsy style as a negative. I enjoyed most of his movies, although Mother! Was absolutely abhorrent.

I made no such argument about anything that would lead a reasonable person to ask this question.

You literally said this:

quote:

An unborn fetus not being a person

Hence my question that you failed to answer. I’ll ask again, is it the location of the baby that makes it a person? Because if the baby is unborn on May 12th and born on May 13th, is it only considered a person once it leaves its mother’s womb? Because the only thing different about the actual baby is the location of it.

Also

quote:

For basically all legal purposes? Yes.

For all legal purposes? So what about those who killed a pregnant woman and get charged with two counts of murder? Shouldn’t it only be one count if the fetus isn’t a person?
quote:

An unborn fetus not being a person isn't an "exception", though.

So a baby isn’t a person until it is born? If the baby was hypothetically born on May 13th, you’d be okay if it were aborted May 12th simply because it was inside its mother’s womb? What stopping you from being able to kill it right after it comes out? The location of it?
