as the permanent head coach?

assume ample time for the next season, no stopgap JohnLOLSmith 10-month contracts . who would be your permanent coach in football and basketball in that situation?

In the past, for Arkansas we always knew Mike Anderson was "available" for basketball but now that he's here who knows who a replacement would be.

This isn't a coaching thread it's a "coaches waiting in the wings" thread. Like Oklahoma States Travis Ford or Pelphrey (pre-suckage) eventually ending up at Kentucky. Any ideas for your school?

PS-- MissState can't use Stansbury again

FB- Gruden and Manning as co-head coaches. Papa John's and Hooters stock thru the roof, Multiple nat'l championships, etc.

BB- Steven Pearl comes in to save the day, battles for last place in the east every year.

Order restored and shite.

Every Athletic Director in college sports has a short list in their back pocket for immediate coaching replacements to call... People get sick, accidents happen, etc. so ADs have to keep a couple names in mind at all times.... I'd say Michael White and Bruce Pearl in basketball , Larry Fedora in football and TCU's baseball coach, schlassnagle.

Would be a disastrous hire for AU, but it would be fun for AU and non-AU fans alike while it lasted.

Kevin Sumlin (was on the initial list with Muschamp after Urban originally stepped down, but came back)

Not sure in basketball. I like Jay Jacobs a lot.

I don't know about a replacement for basketball, that search would be wide open.

For football though we would probably just pick up another HOF Coach. Who has retired recently?
