re: LSU F Johnny O'Bryant decides to stay for his junior year

Seriously?
Dude he's tall but he's not all world.
He won't be drafted this year anyway.
Good player. Not great. Can't shoot worth a dime. Needs better offensive moves.

Is there a better non-SEC coaching combo than Pitino and Charlie Strong?

don't think so.
Maybe Michigan with Bieline and Chris Christie, but after Beelines crazy Nutt-like decisions tonight, I'll pass on them
Hats off to Louisville

I'll never forget Cals meltdown against Kansas. Pitino can flat out coach!

Just wondering how it feels
Arch rival wins the title. Y'all loss at Pittsburgh municipal gym.

re: Gators: I know Billy won 2 titles but if he never gets back to the Final 4, u ok

Okay so apparently Florida fans aren't reading my question. No troll just discussion.
let me ask it again:
-if Billy has "peaked", if he never goes past the elite 8 again, are you willing to keep him or do you want a new coach.
I'm simply asking if he has a lifetime pass. I think Nolan had one, if it weren't for the race stuff; other hog fans would disagree. Does BillyD have one? Could he have 3 losing seasons in a row and survive (not that he ever would)

I know. I just mean.... Does he have a lifetime pass if he never gets back to the final 4?

This just in -- Missouri lost their coach to us. That had to hurt!

I remember Nolan after '95. I always thought he "could" take us back but even though we were two (at least) good recruiting classes away from that I never turned on him. A title and 3 final fours bought him a lifetime pass as far as I was concerned.
What about you? Seems like he should never have a hot seat. But what of he still gets talent but never passes the Elite 8. Is it hot then?
Would you ever turn on him? What would it take? Losing seasons surely but what about 20 years of elite 8s?
For Auburn, that's statue worthy. But Florida has already been to the mountaintop. You okay with never getting back to the final 4 in your lifetime? Would an elite 8 "only" mean lifetime contract or eventual hot seat?
Curious. Considering y'all have actually won titles.

congrats to Florida for drawing this referee crew. won you the game hands down

FGCU getting reamed with no calls; then called for feather touches and moving screens.
congrats gators. you didn't earn it but you took advantage. if refs aren't calling if might as well thug it up. smart move by billyD to turn it into a brawl fest

Wait -- the refs called a foul on Florida? No this cannot be. Based on the first 30 minutes of calls such "fair calls" will not be made. Billy D is on the phone again, reminding you of their deal!
Mizzou fans, why did Haith bench the senior Bell the whole 2nd half?? Stupid
Posted by asdf2001 on 3/22/13 at 12:14 am
I saw some post game quote - correct if wrong - where Haith said that bell missed his first 2 shots so he pulled him for the entire 2nd half.
Um Pressey routinely misses 2 shots on a single possession yet he still plays.
That's not how you treat an experienced senior, Haith or not.
(And why did y'all stop feeding Oriaki? Seriously, apart from all the jokes, I just don't get the Tiger love for Haith. His moves are real head scratchers. )

1-Frank Haith's propensity to fight with opposing fans
2-Frank Haith's propensity to fight with opposing coaches
3-Frank Haith's fill in the blank with anything, really

the unthinkable happens and your FB & BB coach resigns/dies. who replaces them
Posted by asdf2001 on 3/17/13 at 1:06 am
as the permanent head coach?
assume ample time for the next season, no stopgap JohnLOLSmith 10-month contracts . who would be your permanent coach in football and basketball in that situation?
In the past, for Arkansas we always knew Mike Anderson was "available" for basketball but now that he's here who knows who a replacement would be.
This isn't a coaching thread it's a "coaches waiting in the wings" thread. Like Oklahoma States Travis Ford or Pelphrey (pre-suckage) eventually ending up at Kentucky. Any ideas for your school?
PS-- MissState can't use Stansbury again
