Before JFF was named the starter but after his arrest, somebody had some unkind things to say about him. Dad offered (I think it was) a signed helmet to anybody who could provide the poster's address. Good move, Dad!

The article did address that both Johnny and his dad are much alike in regard to their temperament and low threshold for anger. I do hope they both can learn how to keep it in check.

When he breaks a golf club on the football field... or for that matter gets in a shoving match with his center in the NC game... I'll worry about his temper more. I think a hot head is part of the competitiveness and there's no way to separate the two. But I may be full of shite.

Andy Staples' article today had this:

"After reading the story, those who dislike Manziel probably will dislike him more. Those who already like him will absolutely love him. He seems perfectly OK with either result."

which I think is just about a perfect description. He's pissed me off for different reasons (Hook'em) than others, but bottom line he really doesn't give a damn what we think. And that pisses me off, too . As for his sense of entitlement (please, please) it's pretty easy to see where that came from now.

I still wish he wasn't such a dumbass, but I don't see my wish being fulfilled.

Ready for actual football, dammit!

There is a direct correlation with the two but the acting out part is a maladaptive, learned response which throughout his lifetime has become an habitual response. It can be changed but it takes work. In reading the article, I understand how others in his family and elsewhere are unwittingly rewarding him for it.

Maybe it's just a gut feeling but I think he can learn a helluva lot about how to deal with his problems from Coach Sumlin and his staff if he will allow it to happen.

I'm ready for some football too!

Can y'all imagine the trash talk that's going to go on to JFF this year?

That kid may have done better by renting bill boards in every SEC town in the country that said "PLEASE GET IN MY HEAD".

I gotta say. I almost hate his dad more than I hate JFF. He is one of those rich arse pricks that gives their little boy everything he wants. When I saw him at the Heisman ceremony, he was crying like a little bitch. Only the Heisman winner is suppose to cry like a little bitch.

Paul is definitely less likeable than Johnny. both were born with a silver spoon and with crappy dads... hopefully JF can overcome his dad, unlike Paul.

Johnny's younger sister seems to have the most sense in the whole family... maybe she should be running his PR, not some high school dropout.

That is too funny! Why does "Uncle Nate" have to drop out of school in order to run interference for Johnny Turnover?

when he first came on the scene this year they had a piece on him saying how he was so competitive that when he went fishing with his grandad as a kid, if he didn't catch the most fish he would pitch a fit and be mean to his grandpa for the rest of the weekend. None of this shite is new, the spotlight is just highlighting his douchiness and how shitty of a town College Station is. Its a perfect storm. Megadouche moves to JimJonesTown.

The daughter seems to have it together. Good for her telling her parents the JFF Mom and Dad plates were not a good idea.

How sad is it that the most mature one is the little sister? That is just pathetic.

After taking a day to let this article sink in a bit, i'm more and more convinced that DFF is the problem. Unfortunately, at 20, it's probably too late to teach the lessons Little Johnny should have learned as a toddler - how to control his temper, be respectful, etc. He's spoiled, bratty and arrogant - and came by those traits honestly. The fact that the parents thought putting JFF on their license plates takes the cake. And buy him boozd, and fund trips to Toronto to party with Drake - even though they are concerned he has an alcohol problem and is only 20 years old? There is no casty big enough.

And I have another question - who pays for the personal assistant? Is there another athlete in the NCAA that has a personal assistant? For real?

If this is the side that he and his family are willing to expose to reporters, just imagine what they're like completely unfiltered.

In this article, they come across as whiney, melodramatic, ungrateful, and trashy.

They openly admit JFF has an anger problem, needs to work on things and can generally frick things up.

Then they complain when Texas A&M enrolls him in programs like therapy to try and help him become a better person

If JFF wasn't such a fricking douche canoe he could milk this in approx 5 months

Unfortunately, he is a douchenozzle and an attention whore to boot. He'll either mature or he won't.
