Just to note... UGA often gets criticized as lying for saying they don't pay as much as others do for NIL.

I've tried to explain several times that UGA spreads the wealth so while they do spend a lot on NIL, it's not huge amounts toward a few players.

I think this list kind of confirms that.

IF NIL pay has done one thing, it is to ease the sting of losing your talented starters to the portal.

I am sure the ASU staff is shedding a tear on Sam Leavitt leaving but generally twitching with excitement at the prospect of redeploying those NIL dollar.

Auburn shelled out an AWFUL lot for mediocrity.

I'll also say a lot of you are overpaying a LOT for these kids.

I can’t believe Underwood isn’t on this list.

Same here. I have no idea about the innerworkings of his NIL but I wonder if it is a backloaded deal.

A&M and UGA have no one on the list and it isn't because they don't have money, instead they focus on culture. Elko and Kirby have both said they aren't afraid to pay someone but they aren't looking for guys who just want to play the process and are looking for max dollars because they usually don't pan out. Instead they focus on looking at guys that want to get better at football. They can get paid and they may make an exception but they aren't just going to just throw around cash because it isn't a sustainable model. They want guys that are more focused on the next level and wanting to work, they don't like prima donnas. They like to spread the money around more as well and focus on building out a full team not just a few stars. If they spend big it will have to be on someone who is also bought in to the culture.

BTW, I am not saying that throwing around cash at everyone can't work. It certainly has for Tech. It's just different schools will have different approaches.

LOL, Aggy ain't no different than any other school. Yall bought the most expensive recruiting class just a few years ago. If your qb hints at transferring, he's gonna get a raise. That's how it works.

We have plenty of NIL money. We just spread it around a little more evenly.

THis. For UGA as well.

Kirby has had a few quotes that kind of explain what UGA does with NIL:

"I just want to be able to have a freshman come in and not make more than a senior"

"I would rival anybody in the country to have 95 NIL deals."

THat pretty much sums up UGA in the NIL market. Proven players get paid more than guys fresh on campus... and spread it around to everyone (including walk-ons).
