Do you think Beck or Stockton would be QB1?

Beck, then Stockton. The scuttlebutt is that Stockton has outplayed Vandergriff. No way he sticks around if that is true. He is a former 5 star and needs a chance to play.

I think Stockton followed Muschamp to Athens after SCar canned him.

It's amazing how a guy who was so bad at fielding an offense as a HC can recruit so many talented QB's

What happened to Vandergriff? Thought he was next guy in the wings?

NIL is the great equalizer. You haven’t proven anything yet except that you can beat a depleted LSU team after losing a few times in a row when the playing field was level. You aren’t even close to the success LSU has had and not in the same stratosphere as Bama. Pride will be your downfall. Write it down.

First, generally happy for UGA fans that the 40 year streak was broken. Then, supportive of victories over the two most in your face fan bases on the site.

But reality is setting in. The prospect that UGA might be the new Bama is unsettling, so it is time to shitpost.

What a time to be alive as a Dawg fan

WTF? I'm really starting to believe that Ga and it's trailer living fans have forgot that MICHIGAN is in the Tournament! That's a huge mistake, too. Michigan is a team of destiny this season.

We watched that post-game BS last year in Miami. We heard the sh!t talk, your chirping Hee Haw fans, and your disrespect. We've used it as MOTIVATION all year, and even put beating you Pugs as one of our 4 team goals this year.

So laugh it up, pretend you're cool, get overconfident, clean your mobile homes up, whatever, but in about a little over a month, Michigan is going batman on your @sses...as in POW! BOOM! SMACK!

Time for GA and it's fans to wake up to reality...the NATTY is going back to Ann Arbor, and this year you're watching US celebrate in La La Land. We're picking a fight with you mangy mutts, shutting your dreams down, and then taking your lunch money, too!

I'm a Disney Dawg and I can't see 3 IAR. Too many questions at too many key positions.

Bama was never the new anything. That's the difference between us and Georgia.

UGA will never be Bama. Saban at his advanced age is 5x the coach Kirby will ever be. Kirby is a slightly more refined Orgeron with coordinator experience.

Man, there were a lot of posts like this from UGA when they won the SEC in 2017.

No, Georgia may have a run, but there is only 1 Bama. To paraphrase Al McGuire.

And there were a lost from LSU after 2019. But UGA has gone 12-0 two years in a row, thereby giving it more validity.

People overthink coaching quite a bit. For college, it's 90% recruiting. Jimmies and Joes > X's and O's.

That's what Saban did at Bama to separate them from everyone else. He put together a long string of #1 classes where Bama's team talent was so far ahead of others that even with mediocre QB play they'd still win most of the time.

By 2015 (the first year 247 had their talent composite rankings) Bama was entrenched with a huge talent advantage. They had 6 more 5-star players and a 60 point edge in overall talent compared to the next closest team. That's also the year before Kirby came to UGA.

The edge over #2 dropped to 46 points the next year.
42 points in 2017.
Then all of a sudden... teams started to catch up in talent. In 2018 OSU passed Bama and was 6 points ahead of them. UGA was only 15 points back.
2019.... OSU was 11 points back, UGA 24.
2020... UGA was 5 points ahead. OSU was 9 points back.
2021... UGA and Bama were tied, OSU was 16 points back.

Bama went from having a significant talent edge over everyone to having two teams that were effectively equal in talent over the last 4-5 seasons.

Other teams with a little less talent could do better than Bama with elite QB play (like Joe Burrow, Cam Newton, Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence)... but now teams without Elite QB's were giving Bama difficulty due to equal talent (UGA last year)

If Saban retires and Bama loses that talent edge, you could come into a scenario where Kirby's recruiting ability causes UGA to have a similar advantage in talent over everyone that Bama had back in the 2011-2016 timeframe. The gap between the top recruiting teams (Bama/UGA/OSU) and everyone else is still about the same. The difference between the top of those 3 and the closest team after those three has been 56, 69, 75, 68 and 68 from 2018-2022. That's about the same difference between Bama and #2 before OSU and UGA upped their recruiting games.

If Bama falls back with recruiting... UGA could have a similar run due to Kirby being incredible at bringing in talent.

It’s ALWAYS premature to think that far ahead, or to even assume we will win it this year.

By the way, Carson Beck would appear to be heir apparent to Bennett. He has looked pretty good in very limited action. I also think Monken will be back….but you can never be too sure.

Why did Kelly keep playing Daniel’s? He said Daniel’s wouldn’t play if he was injured. It was strange. He looked in pain.
