your right im tempted to say the model is messed up to give osu a favorable stat. at IU is legit....at USC is the uqual to playing at mississippi state, oregon is awful (say auburn), northwestern LULz, Nebraska lulz, at michigan lulz but ill count it as a rivalry as long as you count auburn for alabama....

bama....at Vols, aggie, at LSU, at Vandy, auburn....

this is a fairly favorable slate given how the season has gone.
at Vols > at Nebraska
Aggie and oregon is a push both suck
at LSU harder than any osu game besides the 1
vandy= norhtwestern with northwestern being better this season but not to the point of being a scare for any top team
michigan and auburn = same

and this is a fairly favorable schedule much less find ones in the league that are tougher....

so yeah i do not believe (in real life) osu has the hardest schedule...not even close really...i feel like indiana is carrying all the weight of the schedule.

And notre dame plays their first ranked team this weekend.. and it's very possible they will only face one more the remainder of the season.

Possible two ranked teams and three tops. All season. While playing other teams like Stanford, Rice, Purdue, Syracuse, and Boston College. Then they get a first round bye in the playoffs.

That's absolutely ridiculous.

A&M played two teams ranked in the final top 25 at the end of the year last year, went 1 - 1 against them, and was hosting a playoff game. Georgia is going to play a maximum of 3 games against ranked teams this season (the first last week) with powerhouses like Western Kentucky, Tennessee State, Arkansas, and Georgia Tech (who lost to the Stanford team we just beat by infinite) on the schedule. Get out of here with that shite.

Blame your dumbass greedy conference commissioner for moving to a mega-conference, adding 3 powerhouse programs, keeping the conference championship game, and then moving to a 9 game schedule to top it off instead of complaining about Notre Dame. In other words, the problem is in the mirror.

If you think their schedule is bad you should take a look at Miami’s. It’s worse than ND’s. ND is the only true ranked team Miami will play and that’s not for 3 more weeks. Miami never gets mentioned for having a joke schedule because the media is in the tank for them and runs cover for them.

Annnd you are pointing out one year. Notre Dame has consistently been in the middle to lower tier in schedule strength for the past 5 years. Your toughest recent year? When you played an ACC schedule in the pandemic year. Ohhh nooo! An ACC schedule!! One of those being who you just pointed out Georgia playing that was easier.

You don't even break the top 20 average toughest in ten years. You want to compare Georgia's schedule to ND's for that time? Hell.. let's have fun. Let's compare big ole tough Notre Dame's to Mississippi State's.

Sorry the truth hurts. It's evidently a sore topic for ND fans. Especially after last year. But blame your dumbass athletic department who wants to remain independent and then schedule pushovers while crying about respect and deserving a playoff spot.

ND and the 10 have a significant advantage by the time playoffs roll around just from the beatings the SEC teams took to get there.

Check their weekly injury report vs. any top tier SEC team.
They go in fresh while the SEC is bloodied.

That taints every win they get.

The SEC averages 14.875 NFL players drafted over the last 3 years per team. The BIG10 averages 11.5. Of the 16 teams in the SEC 12 have produced more NFL players than their counterpart, based on NFL draftees. The 6 in the BIG10 who have produced more on the same metric have produced 1 more each. 3 in the big 10 have produced the same number based on that same metric, one of these is Northwestern which has produced 2, the same as Vandy. Of the 12 SEC teams which have produced more based on that same metric the average is 3.66 more compared to the average for the BIG10 being.....1 more.

At the top the UGA and OSU are tied. Going down from there it is staggering how many more NFL players come from the SEC than the BIG10. Top to bottom, any grouping of top, middle and bottom the SEC simply has more NFL talent than the BIG10.

What does this mean? SEC fans and BIG10 fans alike know what it means but the BIG10 discounts it. It means the SEC is about 20% more physical top to bottom....an SEC team is liable to find itself in an Alabama / UGA game, in terms of physicality and athleticism, 20% more often in a season. This also means that the # of NFL draft picks is skewed toward the BIG10 because that physical toll doesn't exist in the BIG10 and many players in the SEC who would have been an NFL pick in the BIG10 are not physically up to it after being beaten to death for 3 seasons against SEC physicality.

It is as stark a contrast as middle of the pack P4 teams playing top tier FCS teams....the latter are going to get beat on physically more than they would playing only FCS teams. The numbers between the middle P4 teams and the top of the FCS are almost indentical to those between the SEC and BIG10.

Fairness has naught to do with anything in life BUT the SEC is playing 9 games a season against P4 teams and the BIG10 is playing 9 a season against 3, on average, P4 teams in terms of NFL draft picks per team. Over the last 3 years and probably over the last 30. The 2 leagues are not playing the same game....the SEC is playing the best and the BIG10 is playing a distant second best. The numbers are what they are.

Ohio State has the hardest remaining schedule in the country btw.

Proof

Not sure you know what proof is but I wouldn't take FPI as proof of anything, it's a predictive rating system, not concrete evidence.

Ohio St. remaining schedule includes #5, #19, and #25.
UF remaining schedule includes #1, #7, and #15.

Which schedule would you rather play?

This is why I think it is important to expand the playoff to 24 teams.

Problem solved.

Most SEC fans do indeed blame Sankey. If ANY team in the BIG10, ACC, BIG12 or ND played UGAs "weak" schedule there wouldn't be any question about how deep a run they would make in the playoff because they'd be headed to the Weed Eater Bowl and its hard to make a playoff run, deep or not, starting in the Weed Eater Bowl.

I mean this with all due respect but there are probably 10 teams in the country outside of the SEC that would go undefeated with Georgia's schedule.

It's not Miami or Notre Dame arse level but it's damn close.

Doesn't matter. They made the NCAA agree that as long as they are ranked #12 or better they will make the playoffs.

Think about that for a minute. If there is no G4 team ranked in the top 12, and ND is ranked #12, and say Ole Miss is ranked #11, Ole Miss will get knocked out of the playoffs and ND will go along with some nondescript G4 team.

Steel sharpens steel in the SEC and grinds down the teams in the process

BuckNuts gets the Bobby Bowden / Free Shoes U schedule during the same time.

It's true.

But the SEC did decide to add even more football powerhouses.

The Big10 and SEC supersized mega conferences really just suck all around compared to having smaller, more balanced regional ones.
