Very disappointing end to the season. On to football.

Gators heading to The Conway Regional, Coastal is on fire, hopefully they’re running out of steam.
Coastal Carolina (48-11, 26-4 in conf., 18 game win streak :o)
Fairfield (39-17, 21-8 in conf.)
East Carolina (33-25, 13-14 in conf.)
Florida (38-30, 15-15 in conf.)

Bats got cold last night but this team still has me more excited about the postseason than I thought I would be. Pitching has really come around and except for last night the bats have been pretty hot. Now we wait til Monday and find out where we're heading.

If we get some guys back we can definitely be a super tough out. Not expecting much for the SEC tourney, but hopefully that gives our guys that need it some rest. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

They will have to get by Napiers play calling and game management
I agree, but think we may have a team that's up to the challenge This is something I think that coaches get more credit for than they deserve. Not saying I haven't scratched my head time and time again because of Napier's play calling and game management but I think a well built, talented team will rely on those things way less than we have recently. A mediocre team will NEED those decisions to be spot on, a team that's got talent and playmakers will make things happen even if those decisions aren't spot on to the situation.

This is KEY! Our season will go well as long as Lagway is healthy and playing at 100%.

Let's hope it keeps up. Clemente came in yesterday and tried to give it away but managed to get it done. Pitching has definitely improved over this good stretch.

Hot damn, took 2 out of 3 at Texas, Gators continue to warm up, almost getting hot at the right time.

What if the top 20 NFL stars all dreamed of playing for one team and the owner of said team could afford $50 million salaries for all 20? That'd be super fun to watch, right?
Of course all of this would have to be governed by some kind of CBA, which would be fun to watch play out. There are plenty of kids playing CFB that aren't making 6-7 figures so you'd think they would have the numbers to get something done.

I'm not the biggest basketball fan but this is great news. The Caw better withdraw his lawsuit
re: How Many Wins Will Napier Need
Posted by TomSpanks on 5/6/25 at 6:04 pm
If it were me making the decision, 8 wins MAY keep him, depending on who those wins are against and how the season plays out. 9 wins probably gets the Gators into the playoff with their schedule so it's a very fine line between scorching hot seat/possibly fired and playoff appearance.

Crazy that even after that post we lost 2 of 3 to Ole Miss and got swept by Vandy, then things turned around and we beat FSU for the season series win and went on a 12-2 run to get where we are now. Still not a lock but if we can win a couple/few more regular season SEC games we should keep playing in June.

Looks like this team is finally putting some shite together. I do like a team that wins when their back is against the wall, and it looks like we're back to a fighting chance to play some post-season baseball.
With Texas getting swept I'm sure they'll be anything but overconfident. Gators are playing pretty good ball right now though so we'll see how this weekend goes. The last few weeks have been awesome, if we can sneak out of Austin with a series win, UF will be hot team everyone will start talking about.

UF is playing now, just FYI. Not sure where D1 got the 4:00 start time.

I'll agree that the jury is still out on Napier, but this year will 100% tell the tale. If we start slow again and then come on strong to get to 7 or 8 wins I'd consider that a failure.
Unless we're OK with putting his limitations fully on boosters and lack of support then this year should be do or die.

A sweep this weekend against USCe would definitely put us in a good spot. At this point I honestly would be surprised if we can take 1 from Texas at Texas, but they may be riding too high and be overconfident and we can smack them in the mouth. We can hope Bama coming into Gainesville is looking forward to the SEC tournament. I'm surprised we're in a good a spot as we are but we still have a tough road ahead to keep playing after the SEC tournament.

After a lackluster game 2 the Boys came back and won the series against #5 Arkansas!! Great series win, hopefully we're getting hot at the right time.
After game 2 was filled with errors, game 3 had some defensive highlights late in the game when we needed them.
