There’s a very real chance that this case at either next court or an appeal after, will be heard outside MS in another state court. NCAA is expediting this given local court got invoked to nix this in the bud apparently.
NCAA - STACKEDDDD
Ole Miss and Chbliss 2026 earnings - frickKEDDD hahahaha

That is not how it works.
They would have to go Federal court if they fail at Mississippi Supreme Court.
Would not go well for them at that point, as decisions at that level could go nationwide and quicken their demise. Federal Court decisions is what has got NCAA into their neutered position.

Not sure, but I think you have to win games to vacate them.

Does MS not have a Court of Appeals? Kind of wild to me that this went from state court right up to the Supreme Court. For instance here in TN, original jurisdiction on most cases fall in either Circuit/Chancery Court or Juvenile Court. Your first appeal would be to the Court of Appeals. Then your next appeal would be applying to be heard in front of the State Supreme Court. It's just wild to me that the State of Mississippi has the Supreme Court hear all appellate cases. Honestly surprised they have the bandwidth to handle all of that.

Even in Mississippi you don’t get to the state Supreme Court by ignoring the law and doing whatever makes you happy. I’d pump the brakes a little.

This is the entire point of the NCCA going this route. To show that the current way this is going leads to crazy nepotism. The eligibility of a player at Ole Miss should be dictated by the NCAA. Not a Mississippi courtroom. I want Chambliss eligible though so you preppy bitches have no excuse when Lane drops his nuts all over your HS stadium.

Why do you want this? What we have currently is an NCAA with absolutely no balls and the OVERWHELMING majority recognize the system is broken and unsustainable.
I actually hope Chambliss gets another year because why not but what college football needs is a governing body with Absolute authority. Not more free-for-all or a system run by judges and litigation.

Appeals go to the Supreme Court. They decide whether to hear the appeal or drop it down to the Court of Appeals. The latter will probably happen in this case.

Haha what? Who in their right mind would downvote this? Oh yeah, those little corn dog bitches I’m guessing.

I truly hope it goes all the way to the US Supreme Court. For one, it would be well after the football season, second it would truly put the final nail in the coffin of the ncaa. And Ole Miss would be the one to do it.

The NCAA comes out on top in 2/3 of these cases, but this one is what's going to bring it all crumbling down for them?
Before you get too excited, maybe you should consider these little tidbits:
quote:
Long-Term Success: A study of 81 state and federal cases between 1973 and 2014 found that while students often won the initial round (49% of cases), the NCAA eventually prevailed in more than 70% of cases on appeal.
Recent Injunction Rulings (2024-2026): Since late 2024, in cases involving preliminary injunctions on eligibility, the NCAA has won 26 of 36 cases (approx. 72%).
Venue Differences: While the NCAA often wins in federal court, recent, more successful challenges by athletes have taken place in state courts, where they have won 10 preliminary injunctions.
Ongoing Litigation: As of February 2026, lawsuits regarding eligibility rules continue to be filed, with 47 cases documented since Fall 2024, of which eight are still pending.
So...the athlete tends to win their case in front of a lower court at a 49% success rate, while the NCAA ends up winning on appeal to a Higher court with a 70% success rate.
since 2024, the NCAA has prevailed in 72% of cases of this sort, usually on appeal in a Higher Court.
And you are also hoping that the Highest Judicial Figures in your state will be willing to overlook their duty and ethics for their fandom.
Not to mention: just because some went to Ole Miss Law, doesn't mean they are fans of Ole Miss Sports. .People usually don't give a shite about the sports teams of their graduate school, especially their law and medical schools.
ETA: I still have yet to see any of you RebSharks walk back your claims of there being "100s" of lawsuits against the NCAA that they lost.

So he had surgery in 2025 for something that caused him to miss the 2022 season? I'm assuming he played during that time.
