How many CWS National Championships does arky have since you believe baseball is a priority?

Hard to argue with that... the opportunities have been there, and we just haven't been able to capitalize. We're consistently top in baseball, which says a lot about our program, but the commitment to football clearly isn't at the same level. I wish it were. I suppose every school faces that challenge of trying to excel across all sports, but realistically, that's easier said than done. I wasn't saying that going all in with Lane Kiffin and football was a bad thing.. was just posing the question.. Heck, I'd sacrifice it all to win one in Football..

LSU dumped everything into Lane Kiffin and football, and now basketball and baseball look like afterthoughts. Is this just bad timing, or is the football obsession starting to cost them elsewhere?

He got hired less than 4 months ago, not sure how the failures of the current baseball and basketball teams could be the result of that.

Definitely for basketball but for baseball they are just going through the post national championship dip. Next year they will be back

I understand Arkansas fans do not have the ability to recognize a post national championship dip.

It's just timing

Men's basketball has been sucking since they fired Wade, this isn't anything new.

Baseball is just having an off-year. They have talent, it hasn't meshed yet. You don't expect Guidry, who has been an exceptional reliever, to blow saves... but if he doesn't, LSU is 4-2 in conference. He lost Game 1 to Vandy, and Game 3 to OU.

As others have posted, Kiffin hasn't been at LSU long enough to affect anything yet.

Basketball and it’s worked out pretty well for them so far

They haven’t even made a final 4 since the 90s.

They’re talking about another program sacrificing other sports for a sports program that LSU has relatively recently won championships in.

Gonna be funny when they're not much better in football, and their fans start saying they should've kept Kelly around.

But… baseball is not an issue of money. It’s an issue of a very poor portal class that is underachieving based on expectations. LSU had, on paper, a top 3 transfer class. LSU is just a bad team this year. Can’t hit, can’t pitch, and can’t field. It is what it is.

I understand this. A&M has talent but just cannot put it together, just like last year. Schloss effectively gave A&M a kill shot when he walked, which I'm sure was the intent. A&M hired a coach that wasn't ready for the job in order to keep the talent from dissolving. Fricking PoS. Maybe next year ...

I mean their roster is pretty much the same as they always have which is crazy they spent so much money on it.

Well, this baseball roster was in place before the 2024 football season even started. I don't see LSU sacrificing baseball after winning 2 natties in 3 years... this team can still turn it around but some of the transfers we were relying on are looking like busts.

Basketball may be another story...

Name a program that wouldn't have hired Kiffin if they had the chance like LSU did.

Only ones that comes to mind would probably be UGA and Tx.

LSU has pretty big plans to make a run in men’s basketball: namely a new arena on the way and the return of our sweet juicy Pear

Is Wade leaving? Wouldn’t be the smartest move

Baseball God’s getting some take back from last year and Arky’s choke job in the CWS semifinal sending LSU to the final.

Instead of them getting take back from yall, I wish they'd just give us a moment where one (or more) of our players doesn't make a bone headed play that likely costs is a championship.

“It’s what Ole Miss has started to do”

Ole Miss gets a lot of credit for being ahead of the curve with NIL. And you have really maxed out that advantage. And the momentum has carried over as well.

State was woefully behind with respect to football combined with other issues that happened. I think we are doing better there in the present day.

You make a good point with where to pour your resources i.e. football > basketball > baseball etc. Going forward I wonder how this will all shake out. The SEC has been great across the board in all our sports over the years. And it would a shame to see that diminish because everything goes toward football (which we all know is the bell cow).

It will be interesting to watch as we go forward.

I feel this is what Arkansas has done as well but only to Football. The sad thing is Football is still my favorite sport...

It still can be good if you convinced big money donors to pay for some top players and that will pay dividends down the road.
