Why pitch to Jones?

It was a ball. Outside.
Great job of hitting by Jones

The ball hit right in the second baseman‘s glove, and he just didn’t catch it

But why flirt with their best hitter in one of the most crucial times of the game?

Go after the guy who is going to get drafted in the first three rounds or put pressure on the freshman in that spot?

Jones knew that they wanted to throw him sliders low and out the zone. He was just looking for one that the pitcher would throw as a mistake or close enough.

It’s a lot easier to hit when you know what’s coming.

Arkansas had a great season and that's a gut wrenching way to lose the game. I hate to see all the players and coaches devastated like that. Your baseball fans are good people.

Thank you.

I'm so happy we get to have all our starters fully rested to chase our eighth Title.

Curse is ridiculous. Foul ball few years back and now this. 3 or 4 bad plays at the end. Always next year but damn that’s hurts regardless of who you root for.

That’s a tough way to lose. Nothing anyone says is going to make that sting go away for a while but Arkansas has a great program and should be right back here next year.

Y’all, I thought the second baseman was going to catch that ball to get out of the inning.

But the curse is real.

That half inning was like watching a baseball version of Final Destination.

Think about it.

So many things happened that inning

1B coming way off to field a ball when he should have stayed home
Aloy not trying for the double play
Davalon trying to make the final out in LF
2B has the ball hit him right in the glove and actually stops the momentum of the ball that could have been a play at the plate or held the runner up at 3B

Seems like Arkansas was playing tight.

If I’m DVH I’d retire. That was heartbreaking and honestly doesn’t deserve the hate from Arkansas fans. Players all season have balled out and when in matters for those final two outs of the game they just found a way to lose…
