I think there is a pretty big difference in forgiving a human being for their transgressions and giving them a certain level of authority again. Actually, a real big difference. Plenty of people are forgiven after years of terrible behavior, they are not promised any earthly things in return.
I don't know if Hugh has earned that trust level back. Auburn gave it to him, and the men who determined that he earned it back obviously decided he had. Their call.

I'm not one of these Christians who will try to persuade or even argue with non-believers who believe repentance is unattainable. Let them to tell it Hugh Freeze still hasn't been punished enough. So, when is enough enough? No, we're not playing your game! If you don't like it tough tits.

This isn't about left or right or legalities or religion.
It's simply a question of if you think it's appropriate for a guy who's recruiting high school students to come to a college and play football to hire prostitutes to lure those students in and keep them happy being on the team.
If you think that's okay, you're likely okay with the Freeze hire.
If you don't, you're likely against it.

It’s obviously wrong to use a company phone to hire an escort.
It’s obviously wrong to sleep with an escort when you are married and your partner isn’t aware of your extramarital activity.
It’s obviously wrong to feign ignorance of cheating in your professional recruiting activity when you are absolutely aware of what is happening under your watch.
It’s obviously wrong to involve yourself in a matter of legal gravity as serious as sexual assault by messaging an accuser with the intent of intimidating them to back down.
Freeze insists on doing things that are obviously wrong. Not things that kind of exist in a grey area or that constitute a necessary evil. Not missteps and heat of the moment mistakes. He has a history of actual ethically wrong behavior.
