Why does Texas deserve it over uga?
They lost to Oklahoma

Left out of the conversation is that a loss late in the season has pretty much always been treated as worse than a loss earlier in the season. There aren't many exceptions to this. Georgia did get in with a late in the season loss a couple of years ago, but that was one of those exceptions that prove the rule.

Texas is the darling of ESPN due to their long partnership with the Longhorn Network. They will always push for Texas to get ahead. ESPN is the one who has started that Texas is back nonsense every summer for the last 15 years. ESPN is the one who got Texas into the SEC. ESPN is the one who helped Texas get a very easy first SEC conference schedule next year. The only hard team they play is Georgia and that’s at home. Go back and look at Missouri and Aggie schedule from their first season in SEC back in 2012. Big difference in strength of schedule compared to what Texas has in 24.

SECRant: “Texas isn’t ready for that fearsome SEC GRIND!”

Also SECRant: “It’s so unfair! Those big meanie longhorns have such an easy schedule in the SEC next year!!!

It's pretty ironic that I was sitting on a dreary September night drinking and cheering for Texas to beat Bama. Had that game not happened we would have lost to an undefeated team and probably gotten in

Deep thought , dripping with irony.

Again - not guaranteeing we beat Bama (or for that matter, UW, who I have repeatedly said is the worst matchup for us in the field), but Texas is better than Bama and UGA at every position group other than the secondary (our biggest liability) and TE (UGA only). And on the latter, Sanders is probably the second best TE in college FB. Texas QB, OL, DL, RB, and WR talent THIS year is better than either Bama’s or Georgia’s. We’ll see what happens.

OK smart guy - do a roster by roster comparison and tell me where I’m wrong. BTW - thanks for Bo Davis and Kyle Flood, best coaches we’ve had in years. Show your proof, please. And - as noted above - we are (hopefully) facing the best coach in college history with a month to prepare. We could absolutely lose. But I still firmly believe UW is the most difficult matchup for us of any team left standing.

Y’all are 2-time defending national champs. I respect UGA and Bama. But again, show me your work and where I am wrong in my assessment of the positional groups.

Two penalties on Alabama on that play. Bama right guard absolutely holding. Guy that caught the pass pushed off.

When Sark is lifting the national championship trophy, I hope the "Texas didn't deserve to be in the playoffs" crowd shows up around here.

I agree. Texas wouldn’t have beaten Bama later in the season and they did lose to a bad Oklahoma team. UGA is amoung the 4 best EASILY.
I pray that you beat Michigan and we get to kick the shite out of you. This time it'll be so much worse. Bama fans, and many SEC fans, now believe Milroe is a great QB. He's not. He's a detriment to his own team's play caller.

The receiver barely brushed at the DB, who was holding the receiver with both hands inside his front collar.

It’s not completely stupid.

Offensive side of the ball: Texas has better play caller. Is deeper at RB. Better at WR. Better at TE. Y’all have better running QB, we have better passer. OL maybe a slight nod to Bama at the moment.

Defensive side: Better interior DL. Pass rush to Bama bc of Turner. Better backers. Bama has better safeties/corners.

Special teams: slight nod to Bama’s kicker. Hard to pick against all time leading scorer.
