This is accurate, and ultimately what will probably cost Hoover the tournament at some point. If you've been to some of the newer MLB parks, they are all trying to be Disneyland now. That's because the younger generation has ADHD from birth and needs constant stimulation or they get bored. Watching a baseball game is not enough for them.

Absolutely agree!! I think it should be rotated - but there are so many minor league parks, or home stadiums to be used. I liked the Big12 football championship best when it rotated. I went north, and I went south - haven't went since it moved to Jerry World. Just hate the place. I don't mind a single location if it's somewhat centrally located. Baseball is popular - but college baseball isn't going to fill a major league park, kind of sad - but it is what it is.

MGM Park, home of the Biloxi Shuckers.
Plenty of hotels, dining, and parking. Good air service through GPT. Easily accessible by a major highway (I-10). Stadium capacity is only 6,000, but I'd bet if they got a crack at the SEC tournament, they would find a way to add a few thousand more seats. Biloxi does tourism.
Biloxi would be the easiest choice, sellouts everynight with State, LSU, and UM peeps. Everything is walking distance, especially the yacht crowd backed in and short hop to stadium

Pensacola would be second. Already have the mass summer break famstars in OBA and 30A down there.
I would go every year to either of these places just because of the destination.

So you think there is absolutely nothing else to do in Birmingham than watch baseball? Nothing?

I’m from Texas and I think that is way too far west for teams and fans to travel.
I’m not done with Hoover, but I would like to see a rotation. And I think Nashville sounds stadium would be a great alternative.

They could walk around the Riverchase Galleria and see which stores are still in business? Visit the Birmingham Race Course for exciting simulcast horse racing? Vestavia Bowl (not during heavy rains)?

I think they need a rotation. And RR is definitely too far west - was simply answering the question.

I still like the idea of the Travelers field in Little Rock.
The problem with this is fans would have to go to Little Rock.

A blast indeed.

Anyone wanting this thing in a MLB stadium has lost their mind. You get zero atmosphere with 8,000 people in a 45,000 seat stadium.

strongly suggest you walk around Birmingham after dark by yourself. Bessemer is just a handful of miles away from the MET, right up hwy 150, and there is plenty of free parking there. You should totally park there and teach all the fat asses a lesson.
Wrong stadium baw.
Comment stands. Southerners are lazy

The ONLY reason that Ty stays in Hoover is due to the convenience for the SEC employees in Bham.
It should be rotated. And, yes, I have been to many tournaments in Hoover. 2022 was my last one. I'll go again IF it is somewhere else.

I agree on Pensacola. It would be an amazingly fun trip for all involved if they had more seating. Hell, I wish they would do it anyway but I get the financial aspect of things.
Would be awesome considering its 2 miles from where I live.
You could fish and tailgate at the same time, and then walk to Palafox after the game and walk around and eat and drink.

Are you saying the Hoover MET is not where the SEC tournament is currently held? That is the only stadium I mentioned. What is wrong about it?
