Big Bama party here in B'ham, took a lot of grief for my LSU tie. Consensus is LSU special teams might make the difference. Unless Bama can find a way to disrupt that advantage it will be a rough night for the Tide. But the people were great, next year I have to wear a "Roll Tide" shirt if we lose.

I also hear a lot of 'Coach Saban (why do they always call him that?) needs to come through this time'. Are the Gumps getting restless?

The bad side is that I introduced several people who will be Bama posters to this site.

Because it's a sign of respect. Like "sir", "ma'am", "Dr.", etc. Most older Alabama fans will refer to any current Alabama head coach or assistant, as "Coach...". And certainly use it when referring to a popular former coach. Coach Stallings, Coach Bryant, etc.

Shula is Shula. Saban is Coach Saban. Stallings is Coach Stallings. Coach Bryant may also be referred to as "The Bear." Hell, Mal Moore (the AD) was never head coach but is still referred to by some as Coach Moore.

I was asked what the biggest LSU fan board was, gave this and told then how to find me. 'Ban the Gumps' and Updyke jokes are child's play compared to what goes on between the Bama fans and the Aubbies, that is some bitter shite they throw. Them boys sound like Sunni vs. Shiite Muslims, not sure how they all work in the same office.

All the LSU grads in B'ham need to fan out and become food missionaries, they need serious help here.

It gets ugly around here close to Iron Bowl week.

And as far as the Coach Saban thing: It is a sign of respect and Bama fans have always referred to their coaches as Coach.

You must have talked to some impostors. Bama fans love Coach Saban and wouldn't trade him for any grass eater.
