Its cool. It is his choice. If he is not going to play another snap till things change then go ahead and remove him from the team, take his scholarship away and let him make it on his own. Im sure he will do a great job in life without the athletics.

If he wants to quit, let him quit. Its very simple

Good luck out there kid

That's 6th grade level grammar. This guy is in college? No wonder we are in the shape we are in.

Sounds like he knows he wasn't going to get very many snaps anyway.
Quit and pay your own way through college.

I would love for this to become a trend. People watch their team regardless of who is playing, otherwise no one would watch college athletics, everyone would just watch the pros, because they are better players.

When does the consumer reach a tipping point?

You're so full of chit you bleed diarrhea

If the SEC and FLA had a bunch of players with DIII talent, and all those players had no criminal records and outstanding Transcripts, you might watch them once or twice and if you did, you'd pay a lot less for tickets, etc

The draw of CFB is the entertainment value of the players, you can talk that rah-rah bullshyt about the name on the front of the Jersey meaning more than the name on the back

If the bullshyt you were spewing were true, then why doesn't an FCS Conference pay out $48 million per Team like the Big10, it is because the TV Networks ain't gonna pay top dollar for sub standard entertainment value and NEITHER WILL YOU

Basically your mouth is writing checks that your azz will never cash

The players at your school are likely worse than this guy, remember that thing about Rocks and Glass Houses?

Now is the time for these guys to strike and get increased stipends, they have the leverage if this thing were to go wide, the Athl Depts are in a financial crisis, they can't afford to "play chicken" with FB & MBB their only 2 sources of revenue to fund the entire Athl Dept

Go for it players, strike and cripple P5 college sports if they don't meet your financial demands

Before you reply I'll always be pro labor vs Mgmt

1. What is he even trying to say here?
2. Does he really believe doctors are getting rich off performing 5-10 surgeries a year on athletes??

Okay, so to give an answer to the kids statement

That's a fine position to take if you play football for Texas and you generate $100M+ a year. If you play football for Rice, however, you ain't making your school squat and you're being handed an ivy-league level education for it. Same for olympic sports at all schools. So if this guy wants to bitch, then fine, he and his teammates have a point. But if you're on the Equestrian team, and the school has to pay out of pocket in order for you to compete at a sport you (presumably) love and you get educated for it, shut up, get on the pony, and go to class.

Who cares? Whether top athletes go to the top colleges or they sit out or go to HBCUs, I’m still gonna watch division 1 CFB and so is everybody else. Most people are gonna pull for their university regardless of who is on the team

Good luck to him with keeping his scholly and passing classes without his "football privilege" that exists at schools like Texas

Athletes at all schools receive help and tutorship for what they do for the athletic department and school as a whole. I'm sure Texas may have more resources than some schools, but that's not to say that all schools would have this available?

How do you know he won't pass his classes without help of tutors for student-athletes? Do you know this kid?

I think that's an unfair double standard. I can't speak to what Brennan's going through because I'm a white male and can't relate to the cultural unrest of BIPOC. But I stand with him and support his choice no matter what. Some things are bigger than what the scoreboard reads on a football field.

Pretty sure he would be one of the returning receivers with the most receiving yards from last season.

And what exactly is he going through?

Must be tough having coaches and teachers and girls constantly tugging at you and supporting you since you started high school. Then getting to go to a major university in the best country in the world and play a game you love with the potential to make a career out of it and become a millionaire. Yep. Must really suck

Oh and if you fail at becoming a millionaire you receive a FREE 100k college education to go into the career field of your choice

That is an extraordinarily black-and-white way to look at it, but that's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it.

You're saying he has all those things at his disposal (and you're right), but you say as if he just won the lottery and is some lucky person for it. He WORKED for those things. He worked on being a reliable receiver to the point that he can start on a Power 5 football team. He EARNED that 100k college education due to separating himself from his peers on the field as a prospect before college. Nothing was given to him.

If you want to know "exactly what he's going through" then I would turn on the news. People in this country, particularly African-Americans, are very disturbed at what they believe is systematic racism that has existed in the country. You don't have to agree with Brennan, or with anyone else that thinks that, but he still has his own opinion that he's entitled to. If this is his form of protest, so be it. I'd take a peaceful protest of sitting out a few games than the violent riots and looting we're seeing.
